@gt12 yep, Luke is really a poor man's Sam Cane. The guy hasn't been bad but he's just a bit meh.

Who turns down 3 in front of the post with 90 seconds left in a half? Honestly? Who does that?

Playing Cane and Whitelock isn’t working. Squire is apparently out there, but we’ve got no go forward beyond Scott Barrett.

Shit decisions by a bunch of senior players, including the captain, and a midfield who look like they met today.

First game and all that, but this is fucking shit.

Squire anonymous against a decent pack? Wow, so shocked.

    @toddy

He’s a great tackler, but it’s just like having two Canes out there (one less good than the other) and Cane has been pretty quiet too, to be honest.

French team are good, but have lived off chances we’ve given them - and I’m looking at your Aaron Smith.

I think we are going ok for the first game. One silly error lead to a try. Quite a few opportunities created. I feel like we are getting on top.

Trying too hard. Do the basics right. Be patient. Hold onto the ball. Take the points on offer when they are there. Put the pressure on them. Respect the ref. Here’s your orange.

Well, after seeing this first half, I think BFA at 14 is clearly the wrong decision. Naholo would have been a better option. Cue BFA proving me wrong in the 2nd half (I hope).

@taniwharugby To be fair, Read would have done the exact same thing.

I kind of agree, except we don’t really have a bench to put them away... but I think we’ve played more rugby. If we cut out the stupid shit, we should win.

ABs look rusty - to be expected.
Not the same sans Brodie & Kieran.
Goodhue must wonder what he has to do to get a shot at 13.
Jordie is a keeper. He looks as tall as his brother Scott. ABs wont lose to many up 'n' under battles with him at 15.
I do wish it was BB to 15 and RM to 10 rather than DMac, although he might just do something special I suppose.
As expected, the French are putting up a good show. They were very unlucky to lose to Ireland in the 6N.

It is stupid to not take points late in the half. Part of the reason for going for touch is that even if you cock it up, most of the time you will still get a lineout/scrum deep in the opposition 22m. When you go for touch at the end of a half and you cock it up it is half time.

He has played some fantastic rugby on the right wing in his early test years , may have had a bit more spark in his attacking games in those days though .

Which begs the question - is BFA past it? He's old for an outside back, and Jordie is playing the house down at 15.

@no-quarter It's bound to happen at some point. Rather this year, than next.
