@antipodean Kolisi plays for the Stormers. But yes - well deserved - he's been a very good player for a long time. Seems like a top bloke too.

    What position does he play?

    Looseforward

Oh good. That makes me happy.

Excellent. Good for him. Sounds as though he has enough experience to be captain.

    Ireland or Australia?
    England or SA?
    Wales or Argentina?

    Who are people supporting?

Please note if you select England, your account will cease to function.

Normally it would be Ireland, but Australia are now getting my pity support.
Definitely South Africa. I really want them to get past the quota era, really hoping their players whatever their colour are now good enough and their coach can coach without one hand behind his back and one eye on the daggers.

Wales v Arg, I don't mind. Probably leaning Argentina for SANZAAR reasons.

i just hope all 3 series go to a decider (yes, that includes us dropping a game). Wait, 4, i guess Wales v Argentina will count.

I kinda want Ireland to roll the Aussies as i like the idea of us not being favourites at the next World Cup. But then if the Aussies get done up 0-3 it might be the absolute death of Australian rugby.

World rugby needs the Boks to be a force, so be nice to see them get up. No one needs a strong England, so watching Eddies chariot continue to roll off the road would be pretty funny.

Be nice to see the Frogs turn up and show something.

Argentina absolutely need to show something v Wales.

Australia - ever since the arm flapping days of Peter Stringer and BOD's near death experience, I've completely gone of the Irish. I'd also like Aussie rugby to improve and I'd say they're underdogs.

Got to be SA. England rugby is the spoiled kid with all the gear and no idea

Wales every time. They're are my second team. The Argies were Nazi sympathisers and bring football bullshit to rugby.

I'm really looking forward to these series and hope they're all on Sky

Australia, because it's beneficial to NZ if the Aussies improve and are competitive (but not too much).
SA, because it's beneficial to NZ if the Saffas improve and are competitive (ditto).
Argentina, because it's beneficial to NZ if the Argies improve and are competitive (ditto 2x).
New Zealand, because I'd like the All Blacks to improve and have the best possible prep for the 2019 RWCl

    • Australia, because rugby is really struggling over there and it desperately needs a boost. Also my wife is a Wallabies supporter and I'm just starting to think about feeling sorry for her.
    • I should really support England given I am a citizen through my mother, but it's just too funny to see them fall over. Also would like to see SA rise above the political bullshit and just play good ruggers. I like the look of Kolisi too, seems to have a good head on his shoulders, liked his comments about wanting to inspire all South African's, not just black.
    • Wales, going to stick to my roots for this one, hope they get up against the Argies.
    • Want to see the ABs make a real statement against France and put the shits up the other big nations after some pretty lackluster stuff last year.

SA name a young, inexperienced & exciting squad for Saturday

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/rugby-union/44301736

South Africa team to face Wales:
Curwin Bosch (Cell C Sharks); Travis Ismaiel (Vodacom Bulls, uncapped), Jesse Kriel (Vodacom Bulls), Andre Esterhuizen (Cell C Sharks, uncapped), Makazole Mapimpi (Cell C Sharks, uncapped); Elton Jantjies (Emirates Lions), Ivan van Zyl (Vodacom Bulls, uncapped)

Ox Nche (prop, Toyota Cheetahs, uncapped), Chiliboy Ralepelle (Cell C Sharks), Wilco Louw (DHL Stormers), Jason Jenkins (Vodacom Bulls, uncapped), Pieter-Steph du Toit (capt, DHL Stormers), Kwagga Smith (Emirates Lions, uncapped), Oupa Mohoje (Toyota Cheetahs), Dan du Preez (Cell C Sharks).

Replacements: Akker van der Merwe (Cell C Sharks, uncapped), Steven Kitshoff (DHL Stormers), Thomas du Toit (Cell C Sharks, uncapped), Marvin Orie (Emirates Lions, uncapped), Sikhumbuzo Notshe (DHL Stormers, uncapped), Embrose Papier (Vodacom Bulls, uncapped), Robert du Preez (Cell C Sharks, uncapped), Warrick Gelant (Vodacom Bulls).

    And Wales follow suit

    Wales team:
Hallam Amos; Tom Prydie, George North, Owen Watkin, Steff Evans; Gareth Anscombe, Tomos Williams

Nicky Smith, Elliot Dee, Dillon Lewis; Cory Hill, Bradley Davies; Seb Davies, Ellis Jenkins (capt), Ross Moriarty.

Replacements: Ryan Elias, Wyn Jones, Rhodri Jones, Adam Beard, Aaron Wainwright, Aled Davies, Rhys Patchell/Gareth Davies, Hadleigh Parkes.

    North to centre. Why?

Anyone's guess how this one will go, but based purely on the climactic conditions then SA have the advantage.
