NBA Season 2017/18

@raznomore I'm slightly older vintage. The four best players I've ever seen play in real time, in no particular order,
MJ
Magic
Shaq
LBJMagic was amazing. He took the Lakers to an NBA championship over the 76ers in his rookie year, after moving from point guard to center to fill in for the injured Kareem, he delivered a man of the match performance. Shaq was such a force of nature, his one glaring weakness was his foul shooting. If I had to pick one player in their prime to play a game of basketball with my life on the line, it would be championship MJ. The guy can even play against and beat aliens!!

Easy to pluck stats but im also easily convinced.
I am an MJ fan and for years tried to hate on LBJ but the reality is he is great on the court great off the court. He doesn't really choke in finals. He has performed for years at such a high level. Man what I would give for bulls vs Cavs/heat final with LBJ and MJ in their prime.

Jordan, purely for the fact that he was awesome, but also got in to his opponents heads by mentally disintegrating them. Could trash talk, and just drag opponents out of a game, while barely skipping a beat himself. Fuck what a competitor.
Holy shit, Jordan averaged 20 points at the Wizards aged 38.
GOAT
LBJ is fucking really good though

MJ.
Lebron’s game is amazing and he and Kobe have played a significant role in keeping the flame alive in the post-Jordan era.
We haven’t seen a guy of Lebron’s size and speed and skill before. A guard in a power forwards body that moves so quick down the floor but can finish with power and finesse.
To Lebron’s credit his first few seasons in the NBA he was a streaky outside shooter at best, but over the past few seasons has improved his range and consistency in this era of 3-point-itis.
For me MJ had this all-round game that he could get into opposition players heads on both ends of the floor. He was never easy to get around defensively. He was a demon on the help D. His hands were quick and his anticipation on the passing lanes was up there with the best ever (Alvin Robertson from the Bucks was probably the best I saw).
Offensively, his post up game was the envy of every low post player. He wasn’t a dribble ISO player, but he could break down a defender if he needed to. Not dissimilar to Lebron, his 3pt shoot got better in latter years. He too finished with power and finesse, and had the athleticism and grace.
And the cherry on top - Jordan 4s and 5s will be better than any shoe Lebron will ever produce.

@act-crusader 4 and 5 are all time but 1,6 and Space Jams are my faves.
Lebron current is the best hes ever had.

I was lucky enough to have a pair of 5s. But the 4s are the ultimate icon, everyone wanted a pair of those. All this talk has got me trying to source a pair to make up for missing getting a pair back then

Year don’t mind the low cut version of the latest Lebrons. Haven’t brought any (yet), currently playing in Kyrie 3s and PG 2s.

This is probably the best finals series I can remember (since getting back into watching in 2010). Still have no idea who is going to win each one.

Rockets vs GSW game 5 is bananas. Rockets up with 2sec remaining.
And they do it. Up 3-2 now, and the Warriors are facing defeat. Iguodala has been a huge loss, but CP3 may have picked up a bad injury in the 4th quarter so they are certainly still alive in the series.
-
Best case for the east is rockets win and CP3 hammy doesn't heal up (not saying I want that). If anything apart from that happens I think we are already watching the final.

ffs, Rackets up by 17 in 1st Q then implode like a goddamn dying star and are about to lose by 8 million. Harden with his usual playoff pointy-end massive hungus choke meltdown job. When it works he looks majestic, when it doesnt it's just 4 guys standing around watching one sad homeless git biff up flailing prayers while trying to milk a foul
Can you provide the blow by blow commentary for the rest of the playoffs mate? 24K as usual

It's bloody great to have two Game 7s with no clear favourites in either.
I could talk myself into backing each of the four teams. If the games were in Cleveland/Oakland then I'd be far more convinced of the likely outcome, but having the 'champion' teams playing away is a great little curveball.
I'll still side with the champs and predict a GSW/Cavs series, but I would not be surprised to see the opposite.

Houston needs CP3 to play obviously. Without him I don't think that the Rockets win, even at home. I hope they do.
The Celtics have yet to lose a playoff game at home, and short of LBJ getting 50+ or a meltdown under the pressure I can't see them losing.
