@tewaio by dicking around after baseball you mean won some ships???
I totally get the Lebron love. He's amazing and probably the best all round athlete that has played the game. But he aint the đ. Lebron is one of the worst flop artists in the NBA and this shit counts against him. In an era where less physicality is allowed hes walking around like hes broken his back from minimal contact. Also Its a contentious issue, playing out right now as well, but Lebron does not consistently evelvate the ability of those players around him. This season, at the beginning, the Cavs were still a high quality team after losing Irving. Not a super team but very high quality. The pieces didnt fit and trades were made. Hes having to put it all in his back and no one is going with him. This was a team that could win but they aren't, he is. You can totally argue that these 2 aspects of his overall persona should not detract from his claim to the throne. I think they do.
Kobe was an MJ clone and thats not an insult. You can not really put him in the conversation for đ because there were times when he was in his prime that he was not the best player on his team. He had the 80 game and "mamba out" and countless "Kobe" moments. It took me a long time to appreciate him and Im only just coming round to Lebron. Being an MJ fanboy can make you a bitter, bitter fluffybunny. to the point of ignoring amazing ability for fear your idol may be eclipsed.
That said if i was to have any player, play to save my life there is only one guy I would choose and its not White Mamba. Jordan had intangibles. Not just a desire to win and the ability to try an do so at all costs but the will to make it happen no matter what. You cant ignore that for the first half of his career it was a title free and Lebron was dragging his teams to the play offs from day one. Jordan was also an axe murderer posing an a basketball player. He was/is an amazing asshole when he wants to be as Steve Kerr can confirm. I saw him compared to Ty Cobb once and that is saying something. But again if I have to have one player play for my life he is the only one. He would win against Lebron, yes he would, and he would most certainly beat Kobe.
Im 39 tbough so whatever...

@raznomore I'm slightly older vintage. The four best players I've ever seen play in real time, in no particular order,
MJ
Magic
Shaq
LBJMagic was amazing. He took the Lakers to an NBA championship over the 76ers in his rookie year, after moving from point guard to center to fill in for the injured Kareem, he delivered a man of the match performance. Shaq was such a force of nature, his one glaring weakness was his foul shooting. If I had to pick one player in their prime to play a game of basketball with my life on the line, it would be championship MJ. The guy can even play against and beat aliens!!

Easy to pluck stats but im also easily convinced.
I am an MJ fan and for years tried to hate on LBJ but the reality is he is great on the court great off the court. He doesn't really choke in finals. He has performed for years at such a high level. Man what I would give for bulls vs Cavs/heat final with LBJ and MJ in their prime.

Jordan, purely for the fact that he was awesome, but also got in to his opponents heads by mentally disintegrating them. Could trash talk, and just drag opponents out of a game, while barely skipping a beat himself. Fuck what a competitor.
Holy shit, Jordan averaged 20 points at the Wizards aged 38.
GOAT
LBJ is fucking really good though

MJ.
Lebronâs game is amazing and he and Kobe have played a significant role in keeping the flame alive in the post-Jordan era.
We havenât seen a guy of Lebronâs size and speed and skill before. A guard in a power forwards body that moves so quick down the floor but can finish with power and finesse.
To Lebronâs credit his first few seasons in the NBA he was a streaky outside shooter at best, but over the past few seasons has improved his range and consistency in this era of 3-point-itis.
For me MJ had this all-round game that he could get into opposition players heads on both ends of the floor. He was never easy to get around defensively. He was a demon on the help D. His hands were quick and his anticipation on the passing lanes was up there with the best ever (Alvin Robertson from the Bucks was probably the best I saw).
Offensively, his post up game was the envy of every low post player. He wasnât a dribble ISO player, but he could break down a defender if he needed to. Not dissimilar to Lebron, his 3pt shoot got better in latter years. He too finished with power and finesse, and had the athleticism and grace.
And the cherry on top - Jordan 4s and 5s will be better than any shoe Lebron will ever produce.

@act-crusader 4 and 5 are all time but 1,6 and Space Jams are my faves.
Lebron current is the best hes ever had.

I was lucky enough to have a pair of 5s. But the 4s are the ultimate icon, everyone wanted a pair of those. All this talk has got me trying to source a pair to make up for missing getting a pair back then

Year donât mind the low cut version of the latest Lebrons. Havenât brought any (yet), currently playing in Kyrie 3s and PG 2s.

This is probably the best finals series I can remember (since getting back into watching in 2010). Still have no idea who is going to win each one.

Rockets vs GSW game 5 is bananas. Rockets up with 2sec remaining.
And they do it. Up 3-2 now, and the Warriors are facing defeat. Iguodala has been a huge loss, but CP3 may have picked up a bad injury in the 4th quarter so they are certainly still alive in the series.
-
Best case for the east is rockets win and CP3 hammy doesn't heal up (not saying I want that). If anything apart from that happens I think we are already watching the final.
