Yet we are the only side to beat the dragons
Not to mention we beat the Tigers who have beaten the Storm twice..

@virgil Matulino, Big Manu, Lolohea, Hurrell....I’m sure there will be one or two others that I can’t think of right now.

Bodene Thompson was a big problem as well but as I've said before, Manu Vatuvei was the alpha male of that group and his lax attitude filtered down to others who either used it as an excuse or used it as a reason for other bad behaviour.

“We had two groups. There was a small group of professional players who trained, hydrated and slept properly so they could perform. But we had another probably bigger group of unprofessional players. Not all wanted to be unprofessional, they just didn't know how to be professional. And many of them were followers, but they were following the wrong people. So when the young ones were coming up, they would join the wrong group. So we knew we had to get some of them out and bring more who belonged to the first group."

Anyone hazard a guess who were the senior players making up and leading the unprofessional bunch?

It's a shame Doyle is leaving, but he is leaving it better than he found it

@sneakdefreak Have they swapped the real Isaac Luke for an android? This guy's powers of repair are amazing

Michael McGuire confirmed as new head coach of the Kiwis. No word yet if the Key is still the We.

Odd that it was announced last night on one of the Fox shows but only officially today by NZRL.

Hmm, wonder if he can convince any of our Tongans to come back - which only really means Taumalolo and Fusitua TBH.

TV news also ran a story saying he would get the job. It seems the decision wasn't a secret.

A premiership winning coach , so he knows how to win , that is a massive bonus

Has history working with Kearney , they were both assistants together under Bellamy , that might be a bonus I would imagine if he wants to consult with him ,

Good appointment IMO , its not as though they would be queuing up for the job , not sure they couldve done much better

Heard that Isaac Luke was supportive so it's good to hear player support for the incoming coach

And McGuire hasn't automatically excluded Benji.

@bovidae Right now he would be one of the starting halves in the Kiwis side, especially if a number of Kiwis get an 'injury' the week before their match against England.

We're in a weird time where theoretically we have 4 halves (Johnson, Benji, Foran, Martin) we could pick from and would only have to resort to a back rower at 6 if 3 are injured at once.

@sneakdefreak Would Foran be in the team on form? From what I have read - no.

If we were reduced to playing a forward at 6 then yes, otherwise no. It's less the fact we have players in form, more the fact we actually have more than two to choose from for once.

Oh, I forgot Nikorima as well although he's been punted back to hooker by Bennett.

Shouldn't be but Shaun Johnson (and Isaac Luke) probably won't be released by the Warriors for the test in Denver due to their injuries this season so you never know. Foran/Benji could be our halves combo....I would go Benji/Martin.

@bovidae Foran is lucky to be starting first grade, let alone a test

Is there any probable chance of Lino being thrust into the Kiwis reckoning? Would he switch allegiances?

Part of me, the Samoan side, wants him to just play for Samoa but then Samoa are piss poor so better off just playing for the Kiwis.

@raznomore Think Lino will stay with Toa Samoa which is better for rugby league anyway.

Luke has been ruled out of tomorrow's game. Karl Lawton to start and Sam Cook will probably come onto the bench.
