Waratahs have 3 NZ teams in a row after this: Crusaders (A), Highlanders (H), Chiefs (A)

I can’t see them getting many points out of that

69th minute, Blues needed to keep it in hand at all costs. They had just got a penalty and had the momentum and the ball. I yell at the screen, "just keep the friggen ball".....Ruru then proceeds to do an aimless kick gifting the Tahs the ball in space.....
I suppose he wanted to make a better spectacle for the crowd......

What the fuck did i just watch?
have the Blues turned to match fixing but have accidentally fucked that up by winning?

Those last two lineouts with less than a minute left were pure panic.

On the Rieko non try. I think the ref got it right. At the point he hit the ground he had a waratah hand on him therefore was held. The waratah player has to then release him. He can't just get back up. Refs have been getting that wrong regularly though.
So that was a bombed try by Ioane. He had time to release and go again or pop it to the support.
What is most concerning though is that last year he would have put the foot down and gone over untouched. Have the Blues run him into the ground by playing him for 80 mins every week?

On the upside - I thought Papali'i outplayed Hooper. Be nice of the commentators could learn now to pronounce his name.

That was the ultimate cripple fight if I’ve seen one. Who could play the dumbest footy in the final 10 minutes?

Haha cross field kick by Beale with 50 seconds to go and you’re hot on attack and the game in the balance. Stupid

Not if we can't beat a Blues doing their utmost in the final stages to lose.

The best union in Australia shouldn't be losing to the worst in New Zealand. And to think Australian rugby was in such a parlous state 40 years ago the (then) NZRFU instigated yearly Bledisloes. What tricks are left in the hat to revive rugby here?

I have no problem with the decision, but I did count at least 3 times in the match when players kept moving when a tackler let them go.

If Folau hadn't have come back from injury this week the Blues might have walked this easy, he was the key figure in the first half.

Hmmm, I just saw it again on the replay. The NSW defender lets him go, then he puts his hand on him again while lying on the ground. Pretty certain you can't play someone while on the ground? Maybe Ioane was hard done by?

Tahs discipline is terrible. They shoudl be more embarrassed than the Blues at how they play. And they are the cream of the Aussie conference... this is a real worry for Aussie rugby.

It’s a worry for us too. Aussie being this weak is a massive problem for the health of the game in NZ

You think? While it's shocking to see how bad they've fallen, this Super format has ensured NZ rugby will be strong. The derbies are an elite NPC that has elevated NZ rugby to another level, regardless of what the Aussies or Saffas do.

Dude the point is Super Rugby isnt going to be around much longer if this keeps up.

    You reckon? What's the alternative?

World Series Rugby just got 20k fans in Perth last night.

    Inexcusable madness

    A senior player 🤪

Be happy blues peeps, wins a win and the streak continues

You get the feeling pre game , Aussie Rugby were almost pleading for this to be the one to break the drought ,

    Forget the Blues woes ,

How bad are they going ?

There are a lot of people (me included) that would be stoked to see the tackle ruled like that. But, every week, you see players tackled, hit the ground, defender releases and they stand up and go again. Refs just shrug and play on. Like anything, it's the consistency.

As someone else said below, there are multiple examples in teh game where they don't rule it like that.

I'm with you in this. Blues would still have scored if Ioane had taken any of the 3 legal options available to him.

BTW, this situation (except the try scoring bit) was one of the 'proofs' of Romanian ref's 'corruption' in the Spain v Belgium match when he corrrctly ruled a Spanish player was tackled and got back up without releasing.

Yeah but that's a special case: the people "over East" took their rugby team away.

Never underestimate the power of hate when it's a Sand Groper versus the world. Bigger victim mentally than Camtabs or Brumbies fans.

Dalton and his family pronounce it Papali not Papali'i.
