    Interesting to see Aussie McLean coaching them.

    A lot of second generation players there - Bunce, Masirewa, Rayasi and Simonsson.

    All of the other Commonwealth countries will also have to send understrength teams to the Hong Kong sevens. What a stuff-up.

    Argentina to beat the USA in the final, and France finishing 3rd! All other usual contenders from the Top 10 countries are Commonwealth countries.

    @stargazer

    Oddly, it looks like just NZ, Australia, England and South Africa are playing second string teams in HK. Should be Fiji all the way, chased by USA. Argentina, France and Scotland teams look strengthened, with Kenya and Canada fairly constant. Any of those 5 have a shot at semi-finals.

    NZ leads 17 - 0 at half time. It was quite fun to watch this first half. This young team radiates energy and they played a quick game. It will be interesting to see how they go against better opponents. Now the second half ...

    Full time: NZ 36 - 5 Russia

    Good, fast game against a weak Russia.

    By the way, Te Tamaki is in the squad. Not sure who dropped out.

    @stargazer Nanai-Seturo was in the original squad but he is with the Comm Games squad now due to the injuries so probably him?

    Half time: NZ 7 - 7 Samoa

    NZ is struggling against this Samoa team that, by the way, got smashed by Fiji last night. If NZ doesn't improve much, we're going to get crushed by Fiji as well.

    Geez, the ref has now sent off the wrong Samoan player from the field with a red card. 🤦🏽♂ I couldn't clearly see what happened. Striking in the ruck or something like that.

    @stargazer

    Tv coverage was looking at the wrong breakdown. It was the previous one where Ravouvou was tackled. Happened right in front of the TJ and the 9 was the right guy

    Awesome try-saving tackle from Te Tamaki.
    Khan off for an HIA.

    Full time: AB7s win 19 to 12. Average game.

    There is no way the ABs sevens B team is within shouting distance of beating Fiji

    Hong Kong is full of surprises. Spain pull off a surprise win over Canada and through to QF for first time in 6 years.

    Here we go. Hopefully it won't be a complete embarrassment for NZ. Some of these Fijians are huge.

    Awesome! NZ strike back. Try to Nicole after a break from Joe Ravouvou.
