2018 masters

It looks as open as it's ever been this year with plenty of players showing some recent form and you can make a case for any of around 20 to win.
Rose looks a good bet. Always seems to be around the leaders as does Thomas. Would love to see Rory in the mix. If his putter goes well he'll have a good week. Woods relies a lot on his putting - so likewise for him.

Man golf can be a fluffybunny. Goes from winning his first big time event, to going down in flames the following year. Fickle mistress indeed!!
Hope Tiger improves from here on out. Seems like he's close enough to stay in the mix, but if the current leaders maintain, or improve, Tiger will need to show some magic to claw his way back.
On radio sport this morning Marshall was leaning towards Stenson or Mickelson as likely winners. But it is early doors. Caught a bit of coverage - man, it's beautiful to watch - they do a great job.

Makes the green for 12! Sinks the putt for a 13!
Being able to get up and down is what makes a Masters winner!
Had no problems getting it down but getting it up in the first place was the issue!

It's karma for Sergio Garcia dining out on his Masters win for the last 12 months like never seen before.
Naming his kid after the 13th hole, wearing his green jacket to his own wedding reception, also wearing said green jacket when attending events ranging from El Classico to Wimbledon.
It's what I imagine would have happened if Shooter McGavin won the Tour Championship gold jacket.

Tin Cup!!
That big Tongan bloke can hit a ball. Bit too hard at times.

Don’t worry
RoySergio, they’ll still be talking about your 13 forever! It was legendary. Now let’s go to the Waffle House. -

I dunno, should the course be punishing shots that land right near the pin like his did?
If he's putting that much back spin on them, sure. A good golfer knows to have his ball finish near the flag, not just land there.

Yeah you feel for Sergio, but then again why did he keep hitting the same fucking shot?
Surely after the first three you aim for the fatter part of the green (on the left) and take the hazard out of play? Or you take your drop much closer to the hazard so you remove the chance of the ball spinning back?
My approach would be simple. After I dunked the first three balls in the hazard, I'd pick up my bag, throw it in the water and head for the bar.

Having Spieth in front again sets up a fascinating last few days.
Has he slayed the demons of 2016? Of his last four approach shots to 12 on Sunday, he's hit three in the water.
Even if he has a 15 shot lead, you know he'll be sweating when he stands on that tee...

I hope Tiger gets in contention or misses the cut - if he's lurking many shots off the lead they will still show every shot he plays and start frothing when he hits a good one.
And it is the worst case scenario - still he'll be going out early in Round 3 so should be out of the way by the time the leaders are on.
Love the Masters for the way that the Leader board is so unpredictable. Not many courses where players can make birdies rapidly and lose shots rapidly as well - the same player can feasibly shoot a 71 with an eagle, 5 birdies, a bogey, double bogey and triple bogey.
Lots of big guns close by this time, a whole bunch of Major winners nestling behind the 2 leaders.
