    Sounds like it is based on what they predict the SWs lineup to be and that Allardice coming on later will provide a valuable edge.
    Plus there is the need to give game time to others in the squad. Its a long comp.
    You have to take a risk sometimes with rotation and Allardice on the bench is a little insurance.

    Sunwolves

    Ryuji Noguchi, Kotaro Matsushima, Timothy Lafaele, Michael Little, Hosea Saumaki, Yu Tamura, Fumiaki Tanaka, Willie Britz (c), Ed Quirk, Michael Leitch, Kazuki Himeno, Uwe Helu, Hencus van Wyk, Shota Horie, Keita Inagaki
    Reserves: Yusuke Niwai, Craig Millar, Jiwon Koo, Wimpie van der Walt, Yoshitaka Tokunaga, Yutaka Nagare, Robbie Robinson, Will Tupou

    Leitch and Robinson get to play their old side

    After being overlooked a couple of seasons ago, Little probably has a point to prove against the NZ sides. Run at Fa'auli.

    So a bit of a family reunion with his cuzzies DMac and MMac. Robbie looked good in one of the earlier SW games I watched.

    @hooroo

    Far too much in my opinion. Looks like strongest team Sunwolves have fielded this year, and by far the weakest for the Chiefs. Their bench looks terribly weak with the absence of Ngatai and Messam. I would have liked Aumua to partner Lienert-Brown in midfield too, and Allardice starting. Just hope they cope without Weber starting.

    I used the word interesting mainly because I don't recall Ardron starting at lock for the Steamers, and arguably he wasn't in our top three loose forwards last season either.

    @donsteppa

    Ardron did make a cameo at lock against the Blues. He's the same height as Brown so undersized for a lock.

    DMac always has at least one kick out on the full a game. He gets one in the very first second of the game.

    Tanaka getting the ball kicked by one of his team mates in the back of his head, Chiefs roll through multiple phases to score.

    Lineout try to Nathan Harris, both teams doing their best to bury memories of the game last year 🙂

    Funny seeing BBBR just yank an injured Pulu out of the way of the ruck.
