I dont think there is an answer either unless we get a sheikh who wants to invest in NZ rugby!
Good post. Emirates All Blacks? It worked for Team NZ, or did AIB already get that spot? A seriously wealthy private benefactor would be great. The Larry Ellison Oracle All Blacks is a bit repugnant to me, Elon Musk maybe...
One of the most successful sporting teams in history should be able to attract enough sponsorship cash to keep players on equivalent money to a French club. Below that we have a problem, the "super" teams can't compete with NH cash.
A Saffa owning the ABs ....

Needs be, and "supporting" not owning.
Still, leaves a dirty taste in the mouth.
-
@dagrubster That's along the lines of what I was saying a few weeks ago.
To help avoid the endgame of rugby being a Euro sport, we all need to be a bit more hostile to guys taking cash over country!
-
@dagrubster nah that French comic guy is a fucken fluffybunny ( @Paekakboyz not a term of endearment) and needs to lose a bunch of Euros
-
@dagrubster I blame them all.
The players all have a choice, though and I outlined my manifesto for them joining the exodus a few weeks back.
Basically, if they go with the AB coach's blessing, then fine (with the proviso that the AB coach needs to be realistic about who we need to retain).

which begs the question, would you rather have a dirty taste in the mouth, or a well fucked arse?

Damn, well that went south pretty quickly.

@mariner4life joined in and pretty much asked the same question as me - just so much more succinctly.
Everyone getting over AIG being on the jersey? Want to keep players? Any better ideas?
-
People are forgetting something.
OE. Not all these moves are money orientated, some people just want to go check out a diff lifestyle. Your 26, fringe AB, younger faster talent being talked about ... all your mates have gone to Europe for s while ...
I'm in a France right now, I'd have loved to live here.

Yep. Every silicon valley fuck knuckle that want to buy a chunk of NZ as a bolt-hole should be made to pay an AB tax whereby they have to pay the contract of a player chosen by NZR.
And get Julian Savea on pay by performance...

Stuff paying for one player, they have to pay for contracts for the whole team!!!

Jordan Taufua won't join Lyon OU. He should stay in NZ. He's been promised by S Hansen that he will have a chance to show he's a contender for the RWC in 2019.
Interesting. Maybe they really are rethinking the options at 6 and Squire/ Fifita aren't ringing the bell hard enough?

Great that he's staying...but I find it hard to fathom he's in the reckoning...
Then again if Ardie is considered good enough and eight cover, I wouldn't see too much difference between him and Taufua.
Apart from about 2 feet in height.
