Fuck that dude given out handling the ball was stitched up!!! I saw it, but changed the channel assuming there was nothing in it. That ball was dead
Disgraceful from the Windies.

Yep most definitely, but the umpires didn’t have to give it out.... bad form from them too!

I was looking at the NZ squad a few days ago because not many of those names were familiar to me. The majority of the team is from Wellington. Did they dominate the most recent U19 tournament?
Wellington did win the U19 tournament this year. Yes, they did dominate. They had a net RR 4 x greater than second placed Auckland.
I can only think of 3 Wellington players in the 15 man squad though; Ravindra, Bhula and Georgeson.
Wellington usually suck at age grade level.

If the fielding team appeals the umpire doesn't really have a choice. Under the letter of the law its out. It's up to the fielding captain to withdraw the appeal at that point. Hopefully they learn from the experience and let it go next time.

Of course they have a choice.
Option one: lets give this out and cause some controversy.
Option two: dead ball, not out.I think everyone in the world would choose the correct option, except the two umpires and their over protective employers.

I think the umpires were right. Don't know if they asked the keeper/captain if he wanted to withdraw his appeal - but, that was the best option open to them.
37.4. Returning the ball to a fielder
Either batsman is out Obstructing the field if, at any time while the ball is in play and without the consent of a fielder, he uses his bat or any part of his person, including a hand not holding the bat, to return the ball to any fielder.
As far as I can see, there's not a law that allows the umpires to call the ball dead unless you were to stretch 20.1.2 to ridiculous lengths.

Imagine playing that rule in backyard cricket.
"you're closer, chuck me the ball!"
"here you go dick"
"haha you're out idiot"
"DAAAAAAAD!!!!!" -

@donsteppa I watched England's collapse (there's simply no other word for it) on cricinfo. One opener for England scored 58 from 53 balls. Three ducks and only one other person scored double figures.
Clearly Indian bookmakers are targeting schoolkids now.

Worth watching:
The guy that is 4th on the list of best U19 bowling figures has turned out to be alright.
The player of that Malaysia U19 tournament was Fern favourite Tim Southee IIRC. I reckon he turned out to be pretty good too.
I do have some issues with Pope's hair but that is just my problem.
