@mn5 I'd be interested to see the average number of balls Edgar faced per innings. He had a lot of lowish scores where he batted quite a long time.

Yeah he did a great job in terms of occupying the crease as I recall. Jeff Thomson sledged him and said he'd never die of a stroke.

Statistically speaking were Wright and Trevor Franklin our best opening combo at the time?

Franklin made Edgar look like Shahid Afridi

Meanwhile Little Kane clumsily lets a yorker bowl him! A hundred was there for the taking Kane!

Still need a couple of hundred runs to completely shut the door on the Windies.

What about his awesome reaction. It was like he had just been told he has to sit through a days worth of My Little Pony episodes

That is niggly but they're still so far in the box seat it's not funny. Some good stuff required from one of these two now.

Cummins is firing down some decent short deliveries. There is still enough in the pitch to interest the bowlers.

Nicholls failed again. He's such a weak link in this team considering we have Santner as high as 6. Have been impressed by newbie Blundell though. And Southee showing a bit of discipline. Boult is just a legend.

Cricinfo reading like these two are making very hard work of it. Sounds like some good bowling along with some poor shot selection, and it's luck keeping them out there.

Santner maybe for a small time but both looking comfortable as now. Taylor with one top edge over keep but that was safe as houses

Santner gone. Time for some freaky CDG brilliance.
