Finally brings up the 100. Well done. Boult can stop puckering now.

Even more remarkable is Boult lasting more than 50 balls...

That was a lot of trust to put in a #11 for an increasingly lengthy period of time 🙂

Amazing that we got 520 runs, and captain fantastic only contributed 1 run

Ahh thanks for the hope Black Caps

@mimic said in Black Caps vs Windies 1st Test:

Blundell needs to bat at 6.. it's ridiculous that Santner and CdG bat ahead of him..
Santner just simply isn't good enough, and CdG bats like Southee/McCullum so it doesn't matter cos he scores quick anyway..

Agree, there was easily enough wrong with Santner's technique to suggest he's nowhere near good enough to bat 6. He ended up just playing across a straight one. Which calls his place in the test side into question, he's really only there because he's a spinner but he's not good enough to be regarded as one of our frontline bowlers so it does affect the balance of the side.

Yep. Really hoping we start looking at satners actual contribution rather than potential. Ish might bowl looser but if satner isn't going to get wickets or runs...

Meanwhile BJ got a ton opening for ND today in Rd 1 of the Ford Trophy but didn't wear the gloves.

Stokes not so good in his debut.

148 behind and 7 wickets to go.

This Windies team doesn't exactly scream much in terms of guts and determination so a collapse could be imminent.

Absolutely no weather issues to contend with either as per normal in the nation's glorious capital.

Knocked over the top 5 now so making good inroads. Good to see Henry with 3.

I feel awful but can't help at laughing at a number 11 knocking his own pad out of the way and getting smoked in the knee.

    Ouch!

81 needed just to avoid the follow on with one wicket in hand.

More time for the boys to check out Courtney place tonight.
