@gt12 if the Scottish pack fronts up, that's a non-entity back row. Fifita isn't good enough, Squire is a downhill skier. Cane will have to do it all alone again.
Get You-are-knee the larger in there.
The Scots back row is no great shakes either considering some of the good players they've had in the past.
Why the Fifita hate? He's incredible with ball in hand, is he no good at his core roles?
god you tick so many "fairweather, glory hunting, barely knowledgeable rugby fan" boxes.
I'm sure his youtube highlight reel is just amazing

Fifita, Cane, Ioane could be just as problematic; two players who don’t necessarily show it via work rate. With Todd and Barrett on the bench, they’d still be two reasonable back ups available.
For me, I’d rather give opportunities to some of the guys who had less minutes last game.
-
@gt12 I'm in the minority i know, but Barrett isn't a good enough lock, let alone blindside, to play regular test rugby.
I love how the myth of Ioane's workrate continues. Haven't the Auckland and Blues guys dispelled that enough. Certainly whenever I've watched him in big games he's got through a shit ton of work. And been effective.
And i would have cut Fifita first, not Squire.

Well yeah that's why I asked. My days of watching rugby every day are well and truly over. Luckily you guys have the time and inclination.

First impressions last I guess. It was one of his work ons, and it seems he has improved on it for him to get the call up ahead of Luke.
-
@mariner4life Squire was sick wasn't he, so not dropped?
I think Fifita is better coming off the bench, but it does create an issue if Read is out, does Luke get the nod as the only other out and out 8?
could go with Cane, Todd & Savea to take the piss haha
-
@taniwharugby haha the Aussie way? How many opensides can i fit in the team?
Cane, Todd, Ioane. There you go. thumping hits, big runs in traffic, menace at the breakdown. sorted.
-
Thought so.
Despite my reservations about him (mainly temperament and in some games work rate), I want to see him get a real go. I’d probably start him this week. At least, I hope he gets some real minutes.
I thought you’d have been all over my earlier post - I was glad to see that the batsign went off over Mimic’s.

Is there a different team to the one that lost to Fiji and just beat Samoa?.

If Read is out I'd roll with Cane 8, Todd 7, Squire 6 and Akira on the bench.
You wouldn't swap Cane and Squire?
-
@antipodean potentially - but Cane played 8 last test after Read went off - Squire hasn't played 8 for a while (I don't think?)
-
@tim although if Read is under an injury cloud, maybe they have kept him on? One would assume the ones coming back would be on a plane by now....
If Read is out, cant see them starting Akira, although I guess of the tests this 'should' be the easiest one...need to put 50 on them by 40 so our 2nd half slump doesn't cost us.
-
Ioane is Kaino's replacement but I doubt they'll use him in the 23. As @KiwiMurph says, more likely Cane moves to 8 in a re-arranged loose forward trio. No need to risk Read if he isn't 100% fit.
S Barrett could also be an option at 6 off the bench if involved.

Squire - 6, Todd and Cane at 6 with Akira on he bench. Bring Squire off on the hour mark, switch Cane to 6 and let Akira rip into the Jocks for the last 20.
Funny looking scrum set up bro
