Thank god for that. We don't need donkeys like Halder wasting space in our squad when all he's gonna do is spend the season playing club rugby for Pakuranga or someone.

Irish independent is reporting this morning that Ronan O'Gara is poised to join the Crusaders as an assistant to Scott Robertson for next year, on a two year deal.
Apparently the Crusaders are "poaching" him. What the actual fuck?
Hopefully for the crusaders this is another one of those incredibly ordinary players turning out to be a good coach . -

Apparently the Crusaders are "poaching" him.If true, then that will be Leon McDonald's replacement. Given how few top coaching roles we have in NZ I wouldn't be comfortable with O'Gara taking the head coach role, but given that kiwi coaches seem to prefer NPC head coach roles over super assistant roles (with some good reasons) I think I'm okay with this.

I hope this is a huge misinterpretation of a tweet from USA Rugby ...
USA Rugby teases Super Rugby match in Los Angeles
A regular season Super Rugby match is to be played in Los Angeles. At least that’s what a mysterious tweet from USA Rugby on Sunday evening suggests. ‘International Rugby Saturday’ looks set to feature an historic double-header, an Americas Rugby Championship test and a Super Rugby fixture, at the StubHub Center in Los Angeles. The date and teams involved will be confirmed on Tuesday but the speculation has already begun. The 2018 ARC is set to take place on five consecutive weekends between February 10 and March 10. Three of those dates coincide with the 2018 Super Rugby schedule, which technically begins on February 17 when the South African conference gets underway but doesn’t switch into full gear until the following weekend. Saturday matches with unconfirmed venues on those dates are as follows: Sat, Feb 24 – Crusaders vs Chiefs Sat, Mar 3 – Crusaders vs Stormers Sat, Mar 10 – Hurricanes vs Crusaders Chile have confirmed their away match against the USA will be in the last round, which makes the last date unlikely. The Eagles are also due to host the Argentina XV and Canada. Argentina will face Chile on March 3. While it’s possible that a match against Argentina on February 24 could be targeted, the most likely scenario seems to be a full-on test match between Canada and the USA on March 3 coupled with the 2017 Super Rugby champions Crusaders against the Stormers. Super Rugby is keen to tap into the North American market and staging a regular season match between two heavyweights with strong brand recognition is a logical strategy. Involving teams from two nations is preferable to only one, and there is another connection nearby as some of the Stormers ownership are rumored to be involved with the San Diego franchise in Major League Rugby. Pairing the match with a classic rivalry between two North American nations also seems a wise choice and one that could well ensure a sold-out crowd at the 27,000 capacity stadium. Tuesday could be a memorable day indeed for American rugby fans.
This is the tweet they are referring to:

I don't see the relevance of whichever NZ team is involved. A home game should be played at a home stadium (a stadium in the catchment of the franchise). Due to their location and the involvement of PI players in the SR competition, I can live with taking a game to Fiji, Samoa or Tonga now and then, but to another hemisphere/continent just for the dollars. Ugghh.

False alarm ... sort of
LA TO HOST PRE-SEASON SUPER RUGBY
Its only a pre-season match but Super Rugby will debut in America when the Bulls play the Stormers in Los Angeles in February as a curtain raiser to a USA Eagles ARC match. Coming into the Americas Rugby Championship (ARC) for the first time as defending champions, the United States Men's 15s look to kick off the 2018 competition in leading fashion as they head to an opening match with Argentina XV. The match will headline a double-header feature, following a Super Rugby pre-season showcase between the Vodacom Bulls of Pretoria and Cape Town's DHL Stormers, February 3rd at StubHub Center in Los Angeles.
Western Province Rugby Group CEO, Paul Zacks added, "This is a great opportunity to share the success of the DHL Stormers team and brand with a new and growing market. The world is continuously becoming a smaller place, so exploring new and growing areas of the game forms part of our vision, as we strive to become a truly high-performance organization with global appeal." “This Super Rugby showcase, is bigger than just the game.” said Barend van Graan, CEO of the Blue Bulls Company, “It should be seen as a step forward in growing rugby even faster in the States, and globally.”

Looks like new Super Rugby jerseys for NZ teams are being released in December.
Pre-ordering has been launched at Champions ending the night of 30 November.
If the description of the new jerseys are accurate then green is the new grey - highlanders, canes and chiefs all have green listed as an away colour. Crusaders have switched to white away jerseys and blues appear to be going for the same colours home and away.
