    @mimic

Holy shit. Huge move. Only for a second round pick apparently (pretty sure Jimmy G was drafted in the 2nd round?).

Wow.. Pats trade Jimmy G to the 9ers..
Thought the 9ers would've waited for the draft but they are making moves..

I hope he's as good as they think

In other NFL news, I think the Texans have found their franchise QB and will make the playoffs. Also, the Steelers are looking like Superbowl contenders again.

I worry that buying from the Pats is like buying from the Storm; the players look better than they are because of system. Hopefully Jimmy is not another Brock Osweiler

@canefan I would prefer they wait until the draft or free agency to pick their QB too.

I'm more positive on this move - I remember Garoppolo getting rave reviews in the leadup to his draft and he got drafted in the same round as Derek Carr - the Raiders franchise QB.

This isn't some knee jerk move - Kyle Shanahan's two favourite QBs from the 2014 draft were Garoppolo and Derek Carr (and as Browns Offensive Coordinator he got stuck with Johnny Manziel).

Garoppolo isn't some round 7 pick like Cassell or headcase like Ryan Mallet.

From what I have read Patriots wanted to sign Garoppolo to sign a new contract but he wanted to play (and Brady shows no sign of retiring) so the Patriots wanted to get something for him before he walked in Free Agency.

@kiwimurph Brian Hoyer is to be released by the 49ers so you can guess which team he is going to sign with in the coming days...

I think Denver needs to look for a new QB as well...Trevor Siemian is a bit useless. KC Chiefs set to win MNF over the Broncos 29-19.

@canefan Nothing. Their young QB Paxton Lynch looks like a bust so it will be back to the draft for them. Maybe they try and sign Kirk Cousins in the offseason? Or see if Alex Smith or Drew Brees want a last run at the Superbowl?

That's a decent trade for the 49ers. The Patriots wanted nothing less than a 1st rounder for him earlier in the season.

Garoppolo probably would've preferred to stay at the Pats so he could hit free agency this off season, as then he'd of been offered a massive contract from a QB needy team without having to prove he's worth it. Now he has to prove he's worth a big contract this season with not many weapons. His value could dip, but Shanahan will try his best to make him look like a star to justify the trade.

@dice Yeah, the 49ers have two high second round picks so it is worth the risk. If it doesn't work out just draft a QB or sign Kirk Cousins.

Some silly trades around the NFL - Carolina has sent their best WR to Buffalo, Miami sent their RB to Philadelphia.

Buffalo have been the most active with trades this season.

This one is really surprising. Ajayi was their whole offense last season and they let him go for a 4th.

The Eagles are going all in this year. They've been trading all their picks away and they're apparently trying to lure Calvin Johnson out of retirement.

The Browns are so bad. They forgot to approve the trade on time.

McCarron must be pretty happy it didn't go through. The Browns have no wide receivers.

@dice Oh Browns....not only did they muck up the trade for a new QB, now the young QBs they have drafted know they're not being backed by the organisation anymore.

Broncos are gonna rock with the Brock at QB from now on. They'll be looking for a veteran QB in the offseason (Cousins, Smith, Brees, anyone)

IT's a bummer - like RG3 he was looking amazing. ACL are nasty - hope he comes back OK.
