I hope for our sake this works out. My bro in law bumped into Mr Blair chilling in the hotel pool while on holiday in oz a couple of weeks back. He said he was super ripped, so at least he doesn't seem to be doing an Isaac Luke and heading home via the pie shop after signing up for the Warriors

Strong words from Blair. If he can walk the talk, he may well be right. I did like his comments around the Kiwi squad defections too. Didn't pussyfoot around like Kidwell and co. Also clear that he's in super good condition, so hopefully the traditional Warriors preseason doesn't do him in.

Definitely a wait and see scenario though. Have seen far too many quality players come and get stuck in the Warriors-mud to have high expectations for a (potentially) good player like Blair.

@paekakboyz I reckon Hoffman, despite his reducing output, was probably a strong trainer. Problem was he didn't totally have the ear of the other boys, and they probably looked at Pie Boy Isaac Luke and thought "More reps? Yeah nah". Hopefully Blair will lead by example at training and this flows on to the pitch

I don't think Hoffman did enough on the field to make his gym sessions relevant. His form was declining the entire time he was here, and at the same time Mannering became who he was supposed to be. Mannering was more that workhorse 'Australian' that everyone claims the Warriors need, than he turned out to be.

@nepia Mannering is the man, we need Blair to be the Price/Wiki hybrid that will lead by example and push the rest to greater things

@canefan If Blair is just Wiki it will be a good signing.

Hearing that Eric Watson has sold the club to Jim Doyle and Auckland Rugby League. Will be announced in the coming weeks.

That's an even more surprisingly week Kiwi team than I expected TBH.

I think a WC at least deserves its own thread... 🙂

I don't have a lot of time to watch League anymore but looking forward to this. From what I can tell there's been a pretty piss poor marketing campaign, I've bearly heard a whisper!

Should be fun, hoping PNG make it to the quarter as expected and cause an upset in he knockout stages.

@canefan I wonder if the club operates as normal or waits until this is finalised in December? Because it is looking likely that Cronk will sign with the Roosters and Pearce will move to Manly which means Blake Green will be available to the Warriors.

@sneakdefreak I don't know, but if we're guessing about the Warriors everything grinds to a halt and we miss out

This is the worst opening ceremony since the 2015 Cricket World Cup.

At least someone tipped the public off as the crowd looks pretty lacking

30 mins of this crap and England look unfit and inept. Australia can only throw forward passes the blind refs can't see.

@sammyc Was it a haka? I thought it was a poem. Whatever it was it was terrible.
