@kiwidom said in Who would you like to earn a first SR contract ?:
Monty Ioane (Bop)
Jordan Manihera (waikato)
Jade Te Rure (manawatu)
Fraser Armstrong (manawatu)
Josh Ioane (otago)
Jonah Nareki (otago but picked up by nz7s)
Matt Johnson (southland)
Mason Emerson (Hawkes Bay) is a midget but has pace to burn and is fearless. As mentioned in the initial post , I think Sam Henwood is rumoured to be heading to the canes.
How about fin hoeata?

@higgins
Salmon is a THP who impressed when Ta$man had Halakonuka and Lomax injured. He's strongly built and could be selected in a WTG.
Wyrill is Sowakula's understudy in Taranaki. He's got some gas and a physique which will suit perfectly to the SR competition. -
R Wright, M Matich and T Tua from Northland, also Jack Ram but as he has been capped by Tonga means he is very unlikely.
Have heard whispers a couple of others are being looked at, a few that would certainly not let anyone down but expect lots of teams have players to fit that.

From the Steelers:

Orbyn Leger (WTG/Development team)
Luteru Laulala
Kalolo Tuiloma ( Get him a bit fitter and he will be a beast)
Matiaha Martin ( WTG/Development team)
Baden Kerr
Sam Furniss (WTG /Development team)
Tevita Nabura
Ronald Raaymakers
Fotu Lokotui
Joe Royal

Emerson reminds me of Lowe, just a bit smaller. Not so sold on this much vaunted pace he possesses though.
Emerson is a bit smaller, but not as good as Lowe, in saying that is Emerson much smaller than Goosen?

Goosen is 4cm taller than Emerson, who's 174cm according to his Magpies profile.

Goosen is 178cm? Hmmm, I always thought he was smaller. Now I can't make my joke about the Canes allowing midgets but only from Wellington. Hurrumph.

@stargazer sure, I can believe that. Just I don't see too many time trials happening in the middle of a game of rugby.
Scotland had a bloke called James Craig who could do 10.6 for 100 metres and he went on to be a household name.
