MN5's 2010 get ripped plan
...and seeing some dude who was about 50 there, in the shape I reckon I'd be in 12 years kinda scared me into doing something about it!..... I'd not have the dedication to do that for 30 mins, let alone over an hour!!
<br />
bro, just wanted to answer the two points above if I may.<br />
**there are people where I workout that I get some inspiration from-for example, you recall the picture of my workout area, there's a lean and strong 76 year old that does 7 sets of 30 reps of 55kg bench daily, and smokes a bit (!)...that showed me the value of consistent working out at high reps for a long period<br />
**Use me as an example-I regularly do 10-20 minutes of the same body weight exercises with small breaks-and I promise I am looking and feeling stronger than ever. I'm looking to expand it to 30 minutes with 1 minute breaks. It sounds boring (and is) but the thing is just to start (not piss around beforehand), and focus on stretching and the recovery between sets. Mix that with the stair repeats is good. -
Doubled my quota of burpees after a fish and chip meal and a few brews last night. Feel bloody good if a bit rooted and that pile of dirt in the garden is gonna be extra hard to move now, DOH !<br />
<br />
That's some impressive lifting for someone of that age Kea, 55kg may be fuck all to a serious lifter but shifting it that often is some effort for someone of any age ! -
For a bit of a change loaded up the barbell with some ridiculous weights and did a few Arnie style cheat curls. I'm stalling a bit on Taniwhas pull up programme so taking a bit of a break from that and doing some cheats for the guns. The serious ache in my guns and back indicates I must have done something right ( definitely a good muscle ache ).<br />
<br />
Oh and packed the boot with over 2 hundie kg of dirt and went to the tip. Unloading it was a painful exercise..... -

At the risk of being banned I'm nipping this conversation in the bud right now <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/rugby/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/eusa_whistle.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':whistle:' /> -
A hard weekend of socialising had me waking up on monday feeling pretty bad and bloated so made sure the burpees, cheat curls and dips got a good thrashing today. Was literally seeing stars after the curls, fark those are brutal.<br />
<br />
Perhaps it's all in my mind but the jeans felt a bit tighter after so much overindulgence as well, hoping detoxing, eating right and sleeping well will alleviate this soon. -

Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, Fern raped. I thought that only happened on Facebook ! -
Crikey, chucked the jeans on and they're feeling looser after a day and a half of strict ( but not anal NTA ) eating and four hard out burpees sessions through the day. Not back at work til thursday so gonna do the same til then as well as rip em out every morning before I head in.<br />
<br />
Will even try and persuade my boys to do them with me. -
Well had a Burpees day off on the Saturday but have tabata'd these bad boys every morning since then. Always aim for 11 on the first set and gradually they fade towards the end, in the last couple I barely get off the ground . Fuck these things are brutal and yet it's less than 4 minutes of working out ! The shower sure feels nice after I crawl up there to get ready for work. I've realised to get to 100 I'll need to do a four sets of 13 and four sets of 12 which ain't happening any time soon ! I'd be ripped to the fucken bone if I could though so it's definitely a goal, however tough.....
-
yeah the burpees I incorporate into my workouts (at the end) are particularly brutal that 10 is a real struggle!

Have decided Monday, Wednesday and Fridays are the way to go for these. Even though I do them on the carpet I'm finding the bouncing is tough on my knees ( after all no point doing em unless you are gonna jump as high as possible ) despite a few minutes of feeling like I'm gonna keel over and die they do make me feel fresh for hours afterwards I have to admit.<br />
<br />
My new job is gonna be a serious test of willpower, afterwork drinks tend to happen EVERY day and there is an unlimited supply of free pies in the freezer. They are Steak and Cheese with no onions, peas, carrots or any of that shit in them. Sadly they are fucken delicious, help keep me honest boys !!!!!! -

Be strong, be strong. Think of all that time you smash yourself at the gym and all those burpies. Do you want that to be all for nothing? What was it Jason Stevens said to Brad Thorn? Something about being more of a man if you can resist temptations than if you simply give into them.<br />
<br />
I recently started a new job and got more than a few startled looks when I took my son's old Winnie the Poo lunchbox into the cantine with me. I'm sure there were also the odd muttering when I refused the cake and ice creams that are passed round each week. But now they seem to respect that and even ask for food and training tips. -

No pies this week and only a couple of wines and beers. I'm getting there !!!! -
My lunch box has the Northland Taniwha on it <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/rugby/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /><br />
<br />
I rarely buy lunch, 3 days a week I have couscous, cherry tomatoes, beetroot and tuna (sweet Thai chilli, chilli and mango, lemon and pepper etc) or chicken.<br />
<br />
One other day I have a fruit day, the other I have bread.<br />
<br />
Have fruit and other 'snacks' during the day (pretzels are quite good, far less fat, sugar & salt than chips, and take longer to eat) like a cereal bar, yoghurt.<br />
<br />
Remembered to bring the Green tea to work, although without the honey & lemon or grapefruit it isnt as appealing
