Is he related to the Papali'i running around for the Warriors? I did a quick google search but didn't see anything.

I can't find anything, but they were both in the 2015 Blues U18 squad. Went to different high schools.

It is a very common surname.

Ryan Tongia is missing from the Stags team to play Auckland tonight following his dangerous tackle charge in the game against Canterbury last week.

Tongia received a yellow card for his a dangerous tackle in the 54th minute on Canterbury first five-eighth Richie Mo'unga.

However, at a judicial hearing it was deemed the tackle warranted more than the yellow card which prompted the one game suspension.

However, New Zealand Rugby Duty Judicial Officer Jonathan Moses accepted Tongia's admission of the charge and found the offending to be at the lower end of the scale.

Taking into account Tongia's guilty plea, and that the opposition player was not injured, the suspension was reduced to one week.
