Bugger. The brave warrior Chiefs, finally felled by the jammy cantabs.
Great crowd. Looked to be well over 100 people there.
Just one man’s opinion but I thought Ian Smith did a GREAT job, in the absence of fellow fluffer TJ, at keeping Izzy Dagg’s bumhole thoroughly lubricated for the entire duration of the match with a phalange of deep ranging tongue action thrusts.
A mighty Wharepaku falls in the garden of Tane. I'm sure your awesome post will get lots of upvotes.
Can't explain the shit crowd, I was at a packed AMI when it was minus four for an Irish test and all it took was two smuggled hipflasks of Jamiesons for us to ignore it. Soft kids these days, just put on thermals and a merino and a puffer jacket and two pairs of socks and gloves and a wooly hat and eight little bottles of Two Tracks 14% Pinot Noir and you'll be fine. FYI it was eleven degrees and sunny at 2:35pm today.
Complaining about the commentators isn't talking about Sport, yes boy.

I thought the Adidas deal was boots an djersies through Super rugby?
When did you learn to speak Seffrican?

Irrelevant post:
By golly I dislike the Chiefs as a concept, their bogan/trash one-eyed supporters and especially Hamilton, worst-looking, worst-dressed female supporters in the whole comp. Yes, I said it!
Love Rennie, Brodie, Liam, Sam, etc and the brand of rugby they play. BUT have never, ever forgiven the Chiefs supporting tossers on this website who called for the Clan to be disbanded and another northern team be formed when the southern team was going through a bad patch.
"The South remembers!" -
Saders deserved winners. Had to make a bucketload of tackles and stuck to their task.
Chiefs lost out big time from Jackson not going back to penalty advantages. Once after TNW 'non-try' and the second time when a dropped ball lead to an end to end Saders try. 9-15 a lell of a lot easier than 6-22!
For me, Chiefs ought to have had Ngatai running a hard line much more to keep the Saders backs honest. Too much shovelling becomes easy to defend a la Blues! But in the final analysis Chiefs looked a little off in second, no doubt owing a fair bit to travel factor, and 5% is the difference between winning and losing. Suspect the result would have been reversed had the Saders been the ones travelling. So glad this format has been killed off!!
The end of an era for the Chiefs. Thanks for all the entertainment!

Starting to think crotty should be a priority signing for 2019. The guy is mostly missed when he's not there.

Crusaders were simply the better team.
Sadly, we don't have quite as much class as required to get through - especially in the second row and the loosies. Cane and BBBR jump out, but aren't enough. In particular, I think Messam and Leitch were pretty ineffective this year.
I think we'll seriously struggle next year because the players coming up aren't as classy as those we are losing.

Jackson's not my favourite ref but he did well to ignore Cane's constant whingeing.
He's a donkey of a ref. You'd be forgiven for thinking his father was Keith Lawrence...

Which is different to other missed players....how? I can only really think of Reuben thorne.

So I wasn't that fussed when Tamanivalu went to the Crusaders this year, well, that came back to bite me in the ass.
@gt12 Yeah, both Messam and Leitch seemed willing but weren't able to be as effective as they usually are.
@Samurai-Jack What Chiefs fans called for the Clan to be disbanded? I'm sure it was Crusaders fans so they could gobble up Aaron and Ben Smith for their empire.
Anyway, what an annoying weekend of sport - Warriors lost (given), Chiefs, then Canes. At least Hastings Boys stopped this from being a complete dead end.

Inspired move by Robertson to convert him into a fulltime winger. He's been superb this year.
The 5 minute passage of play where he first put a massive hit on Mackenzie (right in front of our seats, you could hear the contact). Then the awesome chip and chase to be held up over the line before finally scoring from the scrum move was the turning point of the game I think.
Very happy he's decided to stay next year.

Robertson does seem to be a good coach and gets the best out of the team after some very average years (by Crusaders standards). However if Sam Walker is correct about on field leadership, it might be Sam Whitelock's influence that has turned around their fortunes? Not a great thought as a fan of the Ab's and Kieran.

The cross-eyed surfer outwitting genius future AB coach in waiting Dave Rennie - appearances are deceiving.

Mount Maunganui College's finest. Rennie stood no chance
