Crusaders v Highlanders (QF)
-
Highlanders chief executive Roger Clark did manage to make it to Christchurch on the last flight out of Dunedin and on Saturday morning he told Stuff he expected the team to arrive around lunchtime, ahead of a scheduled 7.35pm kickoff. "The boys are on a plane at 11 o'clock. Air New Zealand are confident it will get out. "Everything should be all good and we'll by some flippers, snorkels and wetsuits as we leave [Dunedin]. "In Christchurch it is very wet but in Dunedin they are still waiting for it to lighten up so they can actually assess the water but at the moment Air New Zealand are confident they'll get flights out."

Apparently there is now a State of Emergency in Christchurch. Wonder if the game will be postponed?

If the Highlanders could not get to Christchurch in time they would have been ruled to have defaulted, similarly if the same weather conditions prevent a suitable venue being offered then the Crusaders must be held accountable for the failure to provide a venue and be ruled to forfeit the game. Not that it will come to that as there is bound to be a ground somewhere that could be pressed into service.

I heard earlier on the radio they were due to fly out before midday...
not the best of preparation for either team, but particularly the Highlanders with disrupted travel and preparation, but I guess one of the unforeseen advantages of hosting the game.

whats it like down there now?
Is it easing (obviously for the locals as much as the rugby)

Still hosing down mate... doubt very much it will be close to a sell out with this weather.
I've got 2 spare tickets and it's impossible to find anyone that wants them.
-
@SammyC yeah I've seen things popping up on FB with people from Dunedin who cant get there trying to off load tickets too.
Shame, cos this game promised to be a cracker, and even with the drainage of the grounds these days, she will be very wet under foot

did Goodhue just vomit?

That huge territory loss was from Aaron Smith's bad kick.
