Chiefs 2017

Taleni Seu is out for at least 6 weeks with an arm fracture. A pity for Seu as he would have started against the Lions, and has been excellent off the bench. I thought that Allardice played well against the Tahs so he will have 2 big games coming up.
Tim Bond (BOP) has been brought into the squad as cover.
Michael Leitch is now on international duty for Japan so won't be involved in the Canes and Lions games either.

@Nepia Must be one of the lesser gods of Hastings then. Didn't make the Magpies Academy?
Sadly, I feel that he chose to avoid the Magpies Academy.

The Chiefs 2017 award winners were named last night. Interesting that the players of the year differed between fans, players and the coaches.
University of Waikato Development Taua Player Award: Luteru Laulala
Generation Homes Under 20’s Player Award: Luke Jacobson
Rookie of the year: Solomon Alaimalo
Fans Player of the Year: James Lowe
Coaches Player of the Year: Damian McKenzie
Players Player of the Year: Brodie Retallick
Chiefs Mana Kotiate: Liam Messam
For only the second time in Chiefs history in a fitting tribute, head coach Dave Rennie was awarded the Chiefs Tohunga lifetime award.

I think the criteria in the minds of each group is different. Fans will lean toward entertainment value and showing out on field. Coaches will include training attitude (and in DMacs case the fact that they have been able to rely on him every minute of every game (I think)). Players will go for the guy that has helped them perform and set standards to follow.
