Onwards and upwards - target 2012...
-
Righto, another cycle overnight, running out of light at night at the moment - might have to borrow one of those headlamp things so I can keep doing my Pa Road forestry gravel road track - I think that's the best cardio I can do at the moment - although the extra bits of posing have got to be helping too at the end of the cardio.

Weights this morning - the leg press with the pause, the 2 million lunges workout. Again legs tired as a tired thing right now, top stuff, gotta love it.

will try and get to Pa Road early enough to do it in the light tonight! -
sOOO, YESterday was spin class in the morning and at lunchtime did Pa Road - just walked up and along for 25 minutes and then returned quicker by about 5 minutes. Downhill. Lunch cardio was good, going to be regular now, gives us the evening free for Ness and her horses and me to sloth and do wahtevr I like!

Today was back day, and cool workout - first of the new programme. First up, deadlifts back on the menu, only 6 reps, supersetted with behind the neck pulldowns - 15, then i think it was 10, 8. DL's were 6 each time. So went 140, 150, 160 and felt bloody good, might ramp it up a little next week, but with less food and leaning down might be hard to increase weights! finished with BB shrugs supersetted with DB shrugs. got up to 160 on the BB shrugs too, heaviest I have shrugged.

Lunch time cardio was stairs. 108 up. Did 23 'reps'' in 40 minutes. Loved it. -
First day of another week, competition sneaking closer while we're not looking... Shoudlers today, a real wrecking ball workout, smashes you, super sets with low reps in the first set, so you can go heavy and then your heart is racing, followed by higer reps in the second set, so it carries on, just K-nackered now!

Weekend was full of cardio, the Pa Road foresrty jaunt a couple of times on Saturday, and gym cardio Sunday. plenty of posing in between too, we're certainly doing more than we normally would, but then it is the first contest of the year and we're all excited!! Went in with the gym closed yesterday and pulled the mirrors around so could see my back in poses. Was certainly a good boost, as the last time i saw my back it was just a back - now all the muscles are coming out to boogie. A good mind boost - especially as i get to see Ness's back all the time, and when she's working out it looks like there are a bunch of Aliens under the skin traying to break out and scrapping with each other!!!

Off to Tarren (nutritionist) as I type (who says men can't multitask) to get the dreaded measures and calipers. Expect there'll be a bit of tucker coming off the menu this time out. Three Sundays before we (as Madonna says), strike a pose!! -
Yeah. all good. Me tracking well, Ness awesome, Tarren almost wants to take her into the comp as she is - just water deplete. She's a kilo and a half over weight target, which is basically a dehydrate away from stage, and she is looking a thousand percent up on last year, and two thousand on the year before. She was down another half kilo on last measure, muscle up a little and BF down to 13 or just under.

Me am not doing as awesome as Mrs, but still on track and doing as i should. Weight down to 86.1, and bf% 6.7. Muscle was up on last week. But themuscle readings rely a lot on the water content in the body etc, so the timy ups and downs at this time of the Bb season is pretty much just the margin for error I would say. And at the end of the day, what the readings are matter diddly squat - the judgges don't know if you're 1,2, or 20%. They just know if you look wicked or not!!

Anyway, so three weeks to go, or just under, three more percentage points for me. Carb deplete will start ten days out for me, five for Ness, I lost my bananas today (there goes 300calories), and egg whites instead of shakes, but hey, it's what we do!

Roll on the clock! -
Great stuff! Excellent work by Ness too - she must be stoked! Sounds like you'll be on the money come comp time as well. THis is the one that you guys are running locally aye? Not far off now bro : )
-
nah, we not competing in the one we running - too hard, maybe next year for that once we have systems in place. This a different federation from our normal, so will be interesting. NO athletic class, just height classes, so will be up against all comers. However, winners are all drug tested, so the drug freaks will not be there. So that's good, won't be against blokes that are TOOO big!
-
Does that fella Nathan OHern (think thats his name) still compete down your way Bart?

Saw him with a mate of my Milan on a fishing programme on TV the other day. He looks a SOLID unit.

Edit - actually they were only fishing down your way. Not sure if he was from around there or not. -
Te Aroha or Morrinsville I think? Heard the name but never seen or heard of him competing in the 3 years I have been on the scene. Think I scared him away..... (There's a TUi billboard waiting to happen) Nah, he's a physique monster, he certainly would not be doing an INBA show - the 'N' standing for NATURAL...

not that I would accuse ANYONE of being on the juice, it's preety obvious, both amle and female who is using illegal help. As opposed to those who use everything possible on the legal side of the supplement range. But that is all for another day!

Speaking of another day - today, legs, yesterday, chest. So today, chest sore, tomorrow, legs sore. Althhgouh thanks to the stair climbing, my legs are pretty rooted already. Going to be interesting to see if all this stair and hill work makes any difference to my pins once they are lean.

Added in the final punishment last night too the start of the 20 minute cardio before bed. Oh the joys of being a bodybuilder... -
where are we? Yesterday cardio ended up being a stationary cycle at home, 40 tough minutes. Tough as it was boring as hell, lucky to get to 40, was going to ull the plug at 30, but then got past that mark and thought would cruise to 45, but nope, bored out of my skull - one of those days!

Spin this morning, nice big class, so able to feed off the vibe, good workout.

Stairs for lunch today... -

In the Sydney Morning Herald today
Seizures of illegal performance and body-building drugs have doubled to the highest level on record, according to new crime statistics.
Australian Crime Commission (ACC) data shows the number of performance drugs interceptions at the Australian border rose from 2695 in 2009-10 to 5561 during the past financial year.

"Performance and image enhancing drugs constitute the majority of detections at the Australian border ... and are now the highest on record," the report said.
Anabolic and androgenic steroids, used to grow muscle mass, are banned in Australia but are likely to have been imported from the European Union, Thailand and South-West Asia where they are legal.

"The internet has facilitated access to these distributors and the delivery of these products globally," the report said. Illicit party drugs are also being seized in larger numbers, with cases of ecstasy finds jumping by 111 per cent in 2010-11 to a three-year high. More heroin is also flowing into Australia, with a 241 per cent weight increase in 2010-11 blamed on smugglers bringing in more drugs by boat from South West and South East Asia.

While heroin use among Australians is declining, the number of seizures rose by 7.5 per cent, marking the highest in a decade. Interceptions of tryptamine, a class of hallucinogenic drugs, rose by 53 per cent in 2010-11 to a decade high, with LSD and magic mushrooms the most commonly encountered. Magic mushrooms were sourced from the Netherlands, Austria and the US, the report said.

Demand for sleeping drugs also rose, with illicit pharmaceutical drug detections jumping by 107 per cent in 2010-11.

Benzodiazepine-based sedatives made up the bulk of seizures.
Home Affairs Minister Jason Clare, ACC chief executive John Lawler and Australian Federal Police Commissioner Tony Negus are launching the report in Sydney on Thursday.
well, another drug free workout today!! Or is coffee a drug, hmmm. I digress.

Back workout today, good day at the office, until jamming little finger on the dumbell rack while replacing the dbs. lvoerly blood blister and finger dead for an hour, now at least I can feel it, but wish I couldn't!!

Despite the above, a good day at the office - posing afterwards, striations appearing in my quads, Sunday is two weeks out from competition. Weight 85.4 this morning. Certainly glad I don't have to get down to 80.5 for this comp! Think Tarren doing this right on the money - by July 28 I should be down to fighting weight. Be interesting to see what bodyfat will be then, my lean body mass is still above my minimum weight for NABBA.

Cardio today, stairs in the rain, and the sun, and the rain, and the sun, all in 40 minutes.

Started into my routine last night while Ness was at her dance class. Sorted, now just need to polish transitions etc. It's good to be a guy, not having to put all the dancy moves in like the chicks do. Number of the Beast getting rolled out, with the bells from AC / DC thunderstruck over the top of Mr Price speaking at the start of the beast song.

that, is all! -
Hey Hooroo, yeah, dunno - he's a bit of a woman when it comes to that. but a nice guy all the same. It's just the post comp low after the rush of comp day and the carb loading and then eating other shitty sugar filled foods (13 days), and then the plummet down. I expect I'll see him on stage in 2 weeks time at INBA! And fingers crossed I can give him another post comp blues session!!

Sooo, old mans knee kicking in big time, but nothing that a bit of diclofinax won't fix! Just annoying really, but what can you expect, dony gets punished and rebels!

shoulders and triceps today, so flagged the clean and press in case knee decided to give out halfway through a press and I end up in a heap on the floor with barbells and weights cascading on me. Other than that did not have to adjust workout, and knee feeling much better than it did this moring on waking! Have not had any diclo yet, will see how the knee goes through the day, and then dose up tonight before tomorrows leg workout!

Weight stagnated at 86 - thank fark that I am not wieght restricted for this INBA competition, as I would be stuffed. mind you, if it had been weight restricted, Tarren would have taken off more food etc to get me down - have faith oh doubting brain! -
Sounds like the waxing scene from the 40 year old virgin!! No doubt you filled the air with blue language!
-
Ness was going to do the happy face, but forgot. Next time!

Legs today, limited weight to kep 'old mans knee' at bay, and no lunges, swiss ball squats instead (against the wall). Knee back to normal this morning, but still went easy, go to be able to do the cardio, that is the important part at the moment with comp 10 days out.

Carb deplete starts tomorrow. Hoo-rah. -
Is comp next weekend Bart?

Waxing seems quite early if so. You gonna have some belly stubble come show time? <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/rugby/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mocking.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':mocking:' />
