Reds v Brumbies.
Best part was the fog hiding half the field. Brumbies now get to host a final after losing more matches than they won.

Bloemfontein is going to be a scheduling nightmare it's a city with no internation flights. Johannesburg is a 4 hour drive and a ~3 hour connection.
Port Elizabeth is an even longer connection.
Getting the Euros is smart, but it's a half assed attempt.

Although having SBW available for Bledisloe would be a good thing, this would make a complete joke of the judicial system (again), if this is true (we can't check whether it's true, because the judicial decision about SBW has not been published, as far as I can tell):
Sonny Bill Williams' four-match suspension for his hit on Anthony Watson in Wellington will see him miss the Blues' final match in Tokyo, but with two pre-season games for Counties Manukau factored in he will be free to return for the first Bledisloe Cup showdown in Sydney on August 19.

Mitchell Drummond, Mitchell Hunt and George Bridge have re-signed with the Crusaders! Hunt & Bridge for two years and Drummond for three years.

@Stargazer Wonder if that means Bryn Hall will be going as you would think that he would be included with that lot if he had re-signed and Fukofuka has another year to run on his contract. I'm assuming that with all the hype surrounding Ene Enari that they will be looking to promote him to the main squad next season.
-
@African-Monkey I thought Bryn Hall signed for two years with the Crusaders?
-
@African-Monkey Only if the Crusaders no longer want him, which is unlikely, considering he's getting regular starts. Hall himself has said about a month ago that he'd like to stay. Unless that has suddenly changed, of course ...
I can imagine that Fukofuka will just be there for injury cover again next year and then be dropped at the end of the season. He may battle with Enari for third spot. For Enari it would be a development year; not sure he's ready to be the 2nd halfback in 2018.
-
@African-Monkey In theory - given that we haven't had to use either of Fifita or Macilai all season - we could carry four halfbacks in the squad for a season.
Be better if we could offload Fukofuka to someone else - for him and us if he was going to be 4th string (though of course it's only my perception that Enari and even Stratton are better options).
I'd be disappointed to lose Hall - after being pretty luke-warm about him coming. He and Drummond have worked quite well as a tandem pair - serviceable at least - and no guarantee that pairing someone new (especially a rookie) with Drummond would work as well.
