Farkin 1st half boring one-out rugby from BIL

The Maori have been even worse, kicking it back to the BIL at every opportunity.

So, bring on West; send DMac to fullback, Lowe to the left wing, and Rieko to 13.

A lot of slowing the ball down from the Lions.

    Was thinking the same.

Their tackler is very good at pretending to be making an effort to roll away, but in fact is lying in the way of the Maori support players, while giving the next Lion to the tackle a crack at the ball.

Murray needs a big second half. Way below his standard and his last game.

@akan004 Agreed. Don't know what's gong on there. Maybe should have been played at the Garden of Eden or Hamilton's Stadium

Both sides doing it. At least Peyper being consistently incompetent

Savea must be shitting his pants seeing the way Ioane is utterly dominating the aerial battle...

It's NH rugby straight out of the textbook, but the Maori - just like the Crusaders - seem unable to deal with it.

The good news is that that style of Boa Constrictor rugby doesn't tend to ramp up the scores in multiples of 5 or 7, so despite being totally outplayed in the forwards, the Maori remain well in this match.

McKenzie looks a bit lost at 10 without space.

@Billy-Tell Maori backline demonstrating why they're not first choice All Blacks.

Expect the MABs to lack cohesion though.

Peyper and the MAB both having an off night at the breakdown.

Fucking off for Murray to be having a go at the ref for them not knowing the laws of rugby. What a cock.

Maori looking like a cobbled together team. Just no cohesion.

Lions are everything they were expected to be. They're very accurate and playing well within the limits allowed by Peyper. Great kicking game for the most part) by Murray, and Sexton is doing a great job.

Maori just look nervous. They can't get anything going and have been inaccurate. They're lucky to have the points they do have.

Rieko Ioane doesn't look anything, at all, like the future AB 11 on this performance.

This dream backlibe doesn't have enough glue at the back. I'd consider sending Ngatai back to 15 and getting Thompson on, although having West with McKenzie at the back is more likely.

NMS has never been great in the air, Lowe looking like Super Rugby is indeed his level, and Ioane a bit anonymous.

The Maori need to be more patient and keep some ball in hands. They look to be playing for territory, but each kick away, the Lions (Murray, Sexton, Halfpenny) just send a pinpoint box kick straight back. A 3 year old could have guessed these tactics, and I'm sure the Maori did, but dealing with it is another matter.

    Interesting game.

Rieko one high ball miss and a couple of missed tackles chasing kicks - not nearly enough for an AB spot next week at this stage.

Akira on the other hand has been really good. Really impressed.

DMac and Lowe with some questionable decisions.

Dixon has gone well at 7 I think - which makes sense give the Lions dont play with any width.

Itoje, Murray, Sexton and Davies the Lions standouts for me.

Lots of individual effort from MAB players, but combinations not there yet.

Does anyone know whether the MABs will have an EOYT this year? Haven't heard anything yet.

@antipodean Hard to look good when they keep on kicking the ball away. To be fair, the forwards are not getting go forward ball and the slippery conditions is helping the Lions rush defence to even be more stifling than it usually is.
