Americas Cup

Reports are they'll be good to go tomorrow.

So how long does it take to make a new wing - a patched up one might be O.K against the British team but they will need more speed in the finals.
I think me jumping on the bandwagon might have been just enough to cause the capsize. My Canadian wife thinks I'm nuts after getting her and her whole family hooked during the last one.

If you can wreck two wingsails in a single day, it seems a bit optimistic not to have several spares in the shed?
Isn't there restrictions on how many you can have?
-
@Crucial More than likely - but, if you can wreck two on a single windy day, then two pretty clearly isn't enough. Mind you - the number of breakages being suffered, if there's limitations on everything then there might be no-one left to race Oracle by the time the AC itself starts!

Which Coutts would take and call it careful planning.
I do love the way we all fool ourselves into thinking the AC is a sporting event with an even chance for all even though we know better.

That certainly doesn't apply to me.
It's less of a fair contest than Super rugby - which is pretty bad.
Even if we win, we'll probably end up in court for using bikes or patching our wingsail or anything else the lawyers can find in the rules.

Casino goers know full well that the house always wins. But they still go...

Couple of wins this morning (and a loss) puts us through to the challenger finals.
Our boat looks to have held together pretty well and clearly has good pace.
Still worried about our ability at the starts. Burling is not a match racer so doesnt appear strong in this regard but we seem to make the right decisions mid race which have allowed us to pass competitors. Not sure how easy it will be vs Oracle if we get to that stage.

I'm happy that it is Artemis. They are probably better / quicker than Japan overall but having to beat Oracle Japan and then Oracle USA , or even having Oracle v Oracle in the cup would stretch the farce too far.
How did that rule about having one boat work again? The Americas cup pisses me off but I watch it every time...
