@taniwharugby We have more races to get us match fit. It would have been nice to break our duck with Oracle before a possible finals matchup but it is what it is

Break our duck? Didn't we beat them 8 times in a row a few years ago?

    At this cup....

Good to hear they're all safe. Burling seems to be really struggling with the starts. Tough conditions though.

I was wondering how long until a team did something like that. Unfortunately it happened, and unfortunately it was us.

Hopefully they haven't damaged the boat too much

Some talk re how much the electronics have been impact and if got wet or not.

We could always sit out tomorrow if we had to meaning it would go to 3-3 then come back the day after to try and close it out.

I would expect the electronics to be fine. Wouldn't they expect it to get wet under normal sailing conditions?

Hopefully the winds are so high that the races are cancelled.

If you can wreck two wingsails in a single day, it seems a bit optimistic not to have several spares in the shed?

@Chris-B. Apparently they are resorting to joining two damaged ones together. Questions being asked about how racing was allowed in the conditions

So how long does it take to make a new wing - a patched up one might be O.K against the British team but they will need more speed in the finals.

I think me jumping on the bandwagon might have been just enough to cause the capsize. My Canadian wife thinks I'm nuts after getting her and her whole family hooked during the last one.

Isn't there restrictions on how many you can have?

@Crucial More than likely - but, if you can wreck two on a single windy day, then two pretty clearly isn't enough. Mind you - the number of breakages being suffered, if there's limitations on everything then there might be no-one left to race Oracle by the time the AC itself starts!

Which Coutts would take and call it careful planning.

I do love the way we all fool ourselves into thinking the AC is a sporting event with an even chance for all even though we know better.

That certainly doesn't apply to me. 🙂

It's less of a fair contest than Super rugby - which is pretty bad.

Even if we win, we'll probably end up in court for using bikes or patching our wingsail or anything else the lawyers can find in the rules.

Casino goers know full well that the house always wins. But they still go...

Couple of wins this morning (and a loss) puts us through to the challenger finals.

Our boat looks to have held together pretty well and clearly has good pace.

Still worried about our ability at the starts. Burling is not a match racer so doesnt appear strong in this regard but we seem to make the right decisions mid race which have allowed us to pass competitors. Not sure how easy it will be vs Oracle if we get to that stage.

Well that's one bit of payback from 2013 out of the way ( smacking Ben Ainsley and sending him out of the cup) he was the tactician on Oracle last time.
Just gotta find a way to beat cuntface (assuming we beat Artimis/Japan) in the LV final.

Deano San surrenders a 3-1 lead to get knocked out. We will face Artemis
