Good hit back by Blues. Qld out on their feet.

    12-4 NSW. Half time

This is fucking great football. Both teams playing bloody well. And it's physical as fuck.

High quality football for sure, but extremely low risk. 28/28 completed sets just simply doesn't happen if risks are being taken.

Yeah, lots of hard hits and then stuff after the tackle.

Fifita causing massive problems for the Maroons.

    NSW surging ahead now.

I think they're a better side without Pearce in the game. Bird and Maloney in the halves is dangerous.

Hayne has great skills.....for a league player that is 🙂

Justin O'Neil is having a shocker.

NSW are blowing this out. Playing well and for once Gus is right, their style of play has been heads up and flat out.

Just checked the score. Bugger me. Glad I didn't pay the $19,000 or whatever it costs for a ticket. Caxton St will be a bloodbath.

Well done NSW far too good.

Fifita, Maloney, and Tedesco the stand outs, but a lot of guys in Blue were huge.

Probably only Gagai, Napa, and Cronk were better than their opposites.

If every game is that fast, and Qld do their usual "loyalty" thing they won't win a game.

Gagai is an excellent player and had a very good game despite being behind a well beaten forward pack.

This was one of the more physical yet least penalised SoO matches I've seen.

Score looks like a blowout, but man, it was close. Queensland should've gotten two tries, if not for a Gregan moment, and Gilette getting stopped dead at the tryline. Another was a silly drop at the kick off allowing NSW to score a try.

This was a game where all the origin moments went NSW's way.

This type of game would've suited the likes of Slater, Holmes and Thurston.

kind of signals an end of an era IMO, NSW looking the goods

And a lot of the QLD greats careers nearing the end , JT , Cronk , Slater , GI , Smith

NSW forwards were too strong, a new era begins. This will be over in two.

@Sneakdefreak were they what! Fifita was huge in the front row (making up for Woods being shit). But their back rowers, all of them including the bench hammered their counterparts. Cordner has been the best 2nd rower in the comp for a while, and showed it, but others weren't far behind. Quicker feet, more skill, but just as hard, the Qld guys had no answer, except Papalii (the Italian islander) who is fucking punchy.

Gillet toiled away, but did Guerra, Thaiday or even MacGuire add much? Myles was shit, as everyone expected, Lillyman honest, but too old now, and far too one dimensional for a game like last nights.

Qld looked in it while it was a physical battle, but you could see they were the ones who were tiring fastest, and that late try in the first half looked inevitable, even with Qld just scoring. The 2nd half was one-way traffic.

Selection for game 2 gets interesting now. Qld have always done this "we pick a team and stick with it, chopping and changing is what NSW do" but there are a lot of guys in that team who are seriously long in the tooth.

Amazing what happens when you don't have a retard from Cronulla captaining the team. A decade of shit washed away.
