How are the AB's tracking heading into the BIL series?

@ACT-Crusader I reckon that Moala is above Seta in the pecking order. I'd choose Ioane myself if he isn't part of the original 33.
I would've said that 12 months ago, in fact I think leading up to the test season last year I had Moala as a starting winger for the ABs. But he's had a massive form slump and a run of difficult injuries. Seta seems a far more settled player and hopefully he continues his good form this weekend as a midfielder.
I like Ioane as a winger

Well, if Crotty out ALB a straight replacement at 12. So would need a 13. No way I can see a newby being thrown in at this juncture. I think Moala has enough credit in bank that he'd be the next cab. It hasn't helped him playing in the rather disjointed Blues backline. But has looked better there at 13 than 12.

12 SBW
13 ALB -
@ACT-Crusader Probably agree that they'd go that way for tests. FTAOD I was meaning Moala to replace RC in squad.

13 ALBOnly if SBW plays and straight man game a bit like tonight. Concentrate on defence and distribution. Otherwise he is value off the bench against tiring players.

@No-Quarter Yeah - I 'd think Charlie might be a bit low on confidence - even a bit gun shy - to be picked, even if he was playing this week.
Proctor would be in consideration if he was playing, but he's in the same concussion boat as several others.
Agree - it would be a big ask making your debut against the Lions, but whomever they would bring in would be pretty much an AB rookie.
Buckman or Laumape might be other options. Buckman's certainly got experience on his side.
Proctor would be a gamble.

All Blacks hooker Dane Coles will be named for the three-test series against the British & Irish Lions, despite spending more than six weeks on the sidelines, most recently with concussion symptoms.
But there's still a chance he will remain a passenger through the series, which starts at Auckland's Eden Park on June 24.
Hansen said there was little more anyone could do about broken thumbs to captain Kieran Read and understudy Liam Squire - "They're mending as fast as they can and both of them should be ready for the series."
Flanker Jerome Kaino is recovering well from knee surgery, first-five Lima Sopoaga will continue his return to the Highlanders this weekend, while utilities Israel Dagg and Ben Smith are also back on the park for their respective Super Rugby teams.
"Colesy is really the only guy that has a question mark over whether he will be right," conceded Hansen.

The Herald has descended into clickbait territory there.
You expect Paul to have some inside knowledge with such a headline but instead it's just rambling surmisings.

@Crucial Smith has said that it is not his wish to skip the Samoa test in order to play for the Highlanders. Stupid media making assumptions.

First five Otere Black was a late inclusion for late scratching Beauden Barrett, whose 26th birthday was restricted to waterboy duties. Boyd said after the match that they were cautious with Barrett who had suffered headaches since arriving in South Africa but the team doctor couldn't say whether they were due to a head knock he received against the Cheetahs or adapting to the altitude in Pretoria.

Barrett left the field at halftime during last weekend's win over the Cheetahs in Wellington, passed a concussion test and had shown no symptoms until the team landed in Johannesburg.
Although the team doctor was unsure whether his headaches were due to travel, altitude or humidity, it was decided the day before the match to withdraw him from the Bulls match the day before kick off as a precaution.
Barrett had exercised earlier in the week without any issues, Boyd said.
Injuries out of the match included openside Ardie Savea and lock Mark Abbott both coming from the field with head knocks

"So [Beauden] was really different because every time he exercised, every time he trained he got absolutely no symptoms at all. But the next morning he woke up with a headache, which probably 80 per cent of the squad did because we're trying to get used to the altitude and trying to get used to the temperature and trying to get used to all sorts of things," said Boyd.

Somehow, this is all Will Smith's fault
