yeah, everything else was business as usual. Only extra was the lunges - and the mix of exercises of course, but nothing new there, just those damn wussy lunges!!

heavy deadlifts yesterday and the calves today are sorererer even still. Today was cardio, so slammed out 25 minutes on the treadmill, preceded by 10 minutes on the bike and ten on the rower. Was good to be slamming those legs down and shaking up the muscles, felt a lot free-er afterwards.
Roll on Monday and chest, interspaced with spin class tomorrow morning!

and Monday arrives - chest and biceps caned again. No spin over the weekend, body still wrecked from last weeks workouts! Hopefully body will adapt quickly this week so we don't look like a couple of 90 year olds hobbling around the place...!!

Hmmm, so much for wussy lunges. They're wrecking me. I have never had a pump like todays in my quads, ever. Heavy squats, and then the billion lunges. Makes the next set of heavy squats an adventure in itself. But superb pump, legs wrecked again. My calves were still sore this morning when tensing them before the workout. So seven days is not long enough recovery on this baby!!! Although I am sure the heavy deads on Friday would help on the non recovery of the calves.

But another great blast this morning, loving these leg workouts.

calves, quads, glutes. I know I have those muscle groups, as every time I move, they scream at me!

Cardio today, 10 minute bursts on treadmll, cycle, tread, rower, tread. Then a few crucnhes to finish myself off!

That is all!!

I reckon, scarily similar! Tomorrow though a change up - instead of weights we're doing spin - Ness picked up a class on Thursday morning to help out at the gym. So we'll do weights Mon - Tue and Fri Sat, Wed, Thur, Sun off for cardio sessions.

Shoulders today, and a blast once again, loving our current shoulder workout. K-nackered by the end. Shrugs, my eyes were far bigger than my muscles this morning. Loaded the bar up with 200kg, up 20 on last week. Bit off a bit more than I could chew, but felt good to be holding that much weight again! Shrugs were very small!! back to 180 next week! Traps sore as buggery now though, so still working them hard, but not enough range of motion for my liking!

Do you do front squats at all? Had my first go at them yesterday, pretty cool. I can see how they'd be easier on the back. Mate reckons they are mint for your lower quad muscles. Didn't try to load any weight at first so I could get a handle on the motion.

That's some solid work on the shrugs. They are one exercise I really enjoy, just load em up!

yes, we've had front squats in programme before, but not at the moment. Haven't done them much though, and never in a heavy cycle (yet), always high rep stuff.

Shrugs - fun fun fun, have never really got into them before, but am hammer down at the moment, but certainly at the limit there with the 200!!

Sooo, Saturday was back, and the king of exercises, the deadlift was up to 155 for 6 reps. Love the brute force-ness of deadlifts. No way you can cheat on a DL, no swinging, no bouncing, no half reps, it's just grunt power!

Chest this morning, decent workout again, only a week left on the current programme, which gets us down to 2 reps. Start to wondering what Dazza will have us doing next month.

Lucky legs today, and managed all my lunges without pause today. Which consequently knackered my legs for the squats more!

So final set of squats 6 X 150, still nice and deep, and then the 20 lunges per leg, bloody killer, getting pumps in my quads like never before.

Stiff leg dead lifts to finish were cool. Getting used to lifting heavy weights again now too - lifting 100 on these seemed light after last Saturdays full standard deadlifts at 155 or whatever it was. And getting used to having a sore body 24/7!!

well enjoyed todays back session big time. Cranked up to 165kg on the deads for 6 reps. Was certainly pushing the envelope for me. Making great faces and spitting on the mirror, all good stuff. Veins a popping!

only a week left on current programme, then we're into a new regime. Looking forward to a little rest from deadlifts, but loving taking it to the limit. Back'll be sore tomorrow - muscle sore that is, a good sore.

Triceps caned at the end too, good day at the office.

SUnday saw a good cardio session, treadmill and bike, pounding out the miles, good sweat up. Burning out the excess calories from Saturday nights BBQ - was a real rebel, 3 whole Macs and a glass of red wine! After two macs I was pissy eyed! BUt thankfully my BBQ skills were called on and managed to avert disaster. But then out hostess pulled out the Cadbury Favourites mini bars, which ened up mostly in my belly! Yummo! And Xmas Cake, mmm, Xmas cake.

Ahh, this morning though, chest, last wokrout of the current schedule, lots of DB work next week, have not pressed heavy with DB's for AGES. Looking forward to it. Today was as challenging as usual, arms super pumped at the end of the bicep workout, and chest caned by the cable flies on our last superset. All good at the office!

Haha a cheap drunk too eh.

Not drinking much or often sure has its effects on ya. I'm quite happy to only take 3 or 4 beers to bbqs etc and then have the wife drive home. Have you tried much of the low carb stuff? I switched over to the macs low carb one a few months back and they seem all good.
