RWC Draw

whats the playoff draw like
Based on the last wc, it was winner A v 2nd B, and Winner B v 2nd A, same with C and D.
Haven't had time to look at the semis. So it looks like we will be playing Scotland in the quarters.

So, plugging in the play-off spots just according to current rankings (most are fairly clear-cut... Samoa/Tonga could easily be swapped)...
Pool A:
Ireland, Scotland, Japan, Romania, SamoaPool B:
New Zealand, South Africa, Italy, Namibia, SpainPool
England, France, Argentina, USA, TongaPool D
Australia, Wales, Georgia, Fiji, UruguayEngland vs. New Zealand final then?

Italy, geez we always seem to get those muppets.
They mentioned we've faced them 6 times in RWC's. Not sure where they got that figure though since there's only been 5 RWC's.
Whatever you're smoking, can I have some...?
What happened to the missing 3?

So Australia, Fiji and Uruguay two WCs in a row for us
Should have enough to finish second at worst, possibility of knocking Australia off and finishing top not out of the realms.
Even with England's resurgance it could be two early exits in a row
And Japan has a great opportunity to reach the QF for the first time

Yes you are right.
Looking at the past 3 RWCs, the semis are
winner of Bs game v winner of c's game
winner of As game v winner of D's gameSo if the ABs and England win their pools (and their respective QFs), they will play in the Semis

Quarters in 2015
1 Winner B v Second A
2 Winner C v Second D3 Winner D v Second C
4 Winner A v Second BSemis
Winner 1 v Winner 2
Winner 3 v Winner 4So initial estimates would be
1 NZ v Scotland
2 England v Wales3 Aus v France/Arg
4 Ireland v SASemis
NZ v Eng
Aus/Fr/ARG v Ire/SASo a AB v Eng game could well be in the semi rather than the final
-
I'm going
NZ v Japan
France v WalesAustralia v Argentina
Ireland v South AfricaNZ v Wales
Australia v Ireland -
England got the draw I wanted for NZ, but it wont suit them as much.
-
And between now and 2019 , South Africa will get their shit back together ,
And be the second best team in the world

Australia v IrelandNo fear of Wales shitting the bed against a Pacific Island team again, and Fiji taking the spot?

Interesting pool for Ireland with either NZ or SA waiting in the quarters if they qualify from group.
They lost to Scotland in the Six Nations this year. Puts pressure on Schmidt to do well in their tour to Japan next month without 11 first-teamers in the squad and unlikely to have Heaslip or Kearney either. Time for the new boys to shine.
