Couldn't watch the games, but the Black Ferns 7s have won their QF against England 21-5 and their SF against Fiji 21-0.

They will play Canada in the Cup Final at 8.07pm.

Btw, the Aussie women lost to Canada in the semis, so will play Fiji for 3rd place.

7 all at half time. Don't think the Canadian try was properly grounded, but it was given. Williams' try was awesome.

What a game that was. NZ pulled it out of the fire.

@KiwiMurph Awesome mentality those girls. True champions. It ain't over til it's over! Great win again!

I understand that some girls will leave the team soon to join the Black Ferns (XV) squad to prepare for the World Cup. That explains why they've called up so many newbies this year. I assume Portia Woodman & Kelly Brazier will be leaving, but maybe more will go into camp.

Still two sevens tournaments to go. I hope their 10 point lead will be enough in case the loss of players will lead to slightly less good results in Langford and Clermont.

The only coverage I saw of the Japan tournament was the last 2 mins of the final. THAT was enough. 😀

@KiwiMurph Ravouvou is in the injured list (knee). I'm surprised about Koroi not being available, too. The word 'planned' suggests that this is a contractual thing with Otago, but why so early?

Probably needs some time for conditioning. He is only just out of school and probably hasnt had an opportunity to put weight on. He might want to get back into the groove of XVs by playing club rugby too.

On Saturday, 19 August when Southland travels to Hawke's Bay for the first round of the Mitre 10 Cup. The Magpies might still win a game in 2017.
