So if we're real masochists, we're now going to watch the Reds v Tahs game.
at least one of those teams should be able to win a lineout, so looking forward to that.

I am. Reds v Tahs is a grudge match for the ages. Won't be pretty but will be brutal.

@booboo 3 metres out? You're having a laugh.
5 maybe?
@KiwiMurph seriously: who was shopping him?
Ridiculous non call.
May have given Chiefies a BP undeserved in the context of the match but deserved in the context of that play.

Nah, no way that was a penalty try. There were plenty of guys there. Sunwolves looked the better team for a fair bit of that game. They still look like a minnow team but at least they give it a go which is more than can be said for the likes of the Force.
Don't know what they were doing with that last play. SW were 2 backs down so they keep it in the forwards and fuck it up.
What was the deal with the scrum going backwards? Missing BBBR?

Nah bullshit.
Jamie Jerry may ... MAY ... have got across to ankle tap Donald (all hail the MIGHTY BEAVER!) but Britz wasnt. JJ wasn't going to stop 5 pts.
Officials bottled it.

Nah bullshit yourself. The 13 and 8 were both still within tackling distance providing enough doubt that he would have gone over. He MAY have got there but there was enough doubt that it was the right call IMO.

It's a long competition. They missed out on the BP but probably ticked the rest of the boxes. Retallick getting a break, for example, will be important later on.
Noone will want to get a full strength Chiefs team in the playoffs. They've conceded the least tries in the comp, which is often a good marker when it comes to success post season.
-
Well that was painful to watch and not even in a they played badly but still one kind of way. Just they played really badly.
I don't think Rennie was being cute (as I think someone suggested), as @Frye notes this is a long competition, you need to rest players and doing that against the worst team on paper is generally the time to do it. It didn't come off that well, but that doesn't mean on another night that team wouldn't rack up the points.
Hopefully, it will help the team refocus a bit because they seem to be in just doing enough to win mode instead of carving teams up mode.

The Chiefs know that the NZ games are all that really matter. Beat the Crusaders and Hurricanes and the lost bonus to Sunwolves is irrelevant.
Lose to them and the Bonus points just decide where you travel to.

As someone who was at the game, I said to my mates that the Chiefs would lose the first lineout thrown by Mitchell, and they did. Of course the Chiefs then lost 3 lineouts in a row.
It was a very poor performance from the Chiefs but I agree with @booboo about the penalty try. I was listening via SportsEars and the ref said "the Sunwolves player's deliberate knock down prevented a line break but no PT". Donald was over the tryline without a defender near him so if that wasn't preventing a probable try I don't know what was?
It was the same in the Canes-NSW game with Barrett's second YC. Instead of looking wide for the number of defenders they should have looked in the first channel.

That comment by the ref was picked up on the TV coverage. If the line was broken and there was noone behind then it's reasonably "probable" that Beaver makes the try line.
-
That was a dead cert penalty try. The only questions would be if Beaver didn't catch the pass or fumbled the grounding. Any thought that he would have been tackled short is ridiculous.
The offending player gets removed from the situation. You can't imagine that he didn't offend but did something else instead.
