Warburton is a done deal as captain judging by the amount of "leaked" reports on him and his injury status.
Here's the latest from today's TelegraphThat article is nearly as bad as something you'd find on "Stuff"... not a single piece of actual new information justifying the headline.

Pretty much copied the BBC piece I posted earlier

Yep - just with a more sensationalist headline.

Latest Lions rumours on the Beeb (including Launchbury and Joseph to miss out). Two days to go until all the speculation can finally stop, and the recriminations and secondguessing begin in earnest.

Saw that. Utterly bonkers if it turns out to be true. Gatland determined to repeat SCW's legacy.
I mean Jonathan Davies FFS.

Wednesday could be fun at this rate...
Launchbury would be an odd one, but lock is the position with most depth and I could just about see them going with a lineout caller like Kruis. JJ losing out to Jiffy Jr though would be batshit crazy.
Telegraph are separately confident that Sinckler has made the cut as the third TH.

JJ or JJ, though, you can see how that might lead to clerical errors...

@SimonAdd_2 Jonathan Davies has been there before and played well so I could see the logic in that selection. It's not like Gatland is picking Roberts ahead of Joseph. Or is he?

Well according to butthurt Scottish fans on a forum I get popcorn and read sometimes Hogg is the ONLY Scot who will tour ( and most probably be the test 15 ) some are suggesting Hogg should tell the Lions to get fucked and tour Oz with Scotland instead ?!?!?!?!?!
They're all throwing their toys and planning on supporting the ABs and completely throwing away the proud Lions legacy that quite a few thistle wearers have been a part of.

I love the recriminations bit - all the national outrage for the first 24-48 hours, then after grief and denial comes acceptance with muttered dire warnings of I told you so held in reserve until it all goes wrong in the first test as the New Zealanders run in their seventh try to the sounds of easy, easy and mexican waves rolling around Eden Park.....
JJ would have stopped that sixth try, I'm telling you.....

Home Nations fans should save their angst for Wednesday's announcement. There'll be enough there for some misplaced, righteous indignation.

It'd be great Interweb entertainment if Roberts got in but imagine if Cuthbert did?

I'm not a Home Nations fan, so I'm getting my two cents worth in now. Although, I do love the smell of righteous English indignation in the morning......

Was at an easter bbq yesterday with a passionate Welsh fan - here is what he said to me word-for word:
"I hope the Lions get completely obliterated, smashed to pieces. as with the announcement in a couple of days the Welsh coach, Gatland, is just going to select all his favourites, and not the best players, it'll serve them right when New Zealand destroy them"
Try and make sense of that one - I still can't.

Probably pissed on what is quite possibly THE shittest beer known to man, Brains Bitter. Cut him some slack.

Some great comedy in the Sunday Times just past with articles from Mr S Jones and Mr S Barnes describing in detail their ham fisted attempts at analysis and how the Lions should take on the ABs.
Jones thinks BBBR is a loose lock that needs to be made to tackle to dull his attacking edge and Barnes thinks the Lions can keep Read away from the outside channels.
Barnes column reminded me of his infamous pre-game analysis of the 2011 semi-final while the Walrus wants the Lions to select for size and batter us into submission. -

Barnes column reminded me of his infamous pre-game analysis of the 2011 semi-final while the Walrus wants the Lions to select for size and batter us into submission. It sort of made sense I thought. Both highlighted how much the AB's revolve around Brodie being able to pass both ways or set a ruck so use him as first or second five off a lot of rucks. So if you want to counter that you can't stop him being awesome, but you can attack the ruck to such a degree he has to step in & play tighter.
Same deal with Read. If he is free to run wide channels he will tear them apart. Both were against trying to play the AB gameplan, none of this 2 or 3 guys to a ruck, move it, have forwards with amazing hands standing wide stuff, instead pile in up front & try drag the likes of Read & Retallick into more & more rucks.
I'm not sure it'll work, but it'll work better than trying to rush up on Brodie & hope than puts him off his passing game.
Times today was highlighting how amazing Barrett is, except for his goal kicking which they pointed out is pigshit awful.
