Tim Bateman speaks well, for a guy who just played 40 mins of footy!

Mounga might be ticking up my most points pick with his continued missed kicks.. sort it out lad!

End of the 1st half - Mataele with a hat-trick, 5 tries in total 29-3.
Read, Mo'unga look on track, nice touches from Goodhue, Funnell has been busy, Romano and Sammy W involved in everything and all industry. Bloody Tamanivalu injured again - HIA I think. Up until then he looked good.
Mataele has been on the end of very good tries - don't know much about him - how good is he?

@MN5 two things on your continued "up early for rugby" crusade.

    A.) 8.30 isn't early.

    1. I'm not a canes supporter.

I find the second point extremely surprising

At Halftime Greg Martin mentioned that it had been 'raining in the corners'

    I don't mean to alarm you, but it's 2017.

I know the Crusaders have scored 50 points, but they have been reasonably shit for large chunks of this game.

They've been ably assisted by a Sunwolves team whose game plan appears to have been hand over the ball at every opportunity.

@Gunner Yep, I guess its hard to keep the foot on the throat when the opposition is clearly inferior

Blues fans (and Nepia) really get bitter over TJ don't they?

I genuinely do not see why people get their undies in a twist over TJ commentating the Crusaders. If anyone can provide examples of TJ being orgasmic over the Crusaders and overly/unfairly critical of the Blues please do.

@Crazy-Horse ditto, the last few times I've heard he's on I've gone out of my way to try and spot the source of outrage but come up empty. If anything I've thought he's sounded more excited for blues matches.

Yeah i can't say i have ever been able to pick any over the top bias from any of the NZ comms, except justin marshall who shouldn't be anywhere near the comm box (by the sound of it the other commentators are getting sick of his shit too).

However when the alternatives are kearns, mardo and kafer i don't think there is much to complain about outside that idiot Marshall.

From the game i thought all the returning guys went well. Tamanivalu looked in very good touch. Interesting to read the following. Bit of a joke when the Sunwolves 8 was allowed to play on for a few minutes after clearly being ko'd.

    Stuff

He criticises the Blues for things that all other teams do, he get far more excited when the opposition is about to score against us, and he often falls into that patronising tone "When will the Blues learn".

Crap like that. Doesn't do it for any other team. I'm not against having biased commentators, just would like a positive one for the Blues.

Same as the Chiefs get Cooper, Canes get Nisbett, Crusaders get TJ, etc

I know he's polarising but give us Sumo, least he enjoys the games. Would also like Ken 'second man play' Laban.

I've noticed him say , with a hint of sarcasm , that it's typical blues , , or this what we have come to expect , when they make an error , it could be the first one of the night and the opposition has already made one that he didn't comment on .

Not Sure if he is still doing it , but it is something I had picked up on in previous seasons
