Movie was ok, I think they over complicated the plot a bit - Ocean's Eleven with cars was what they seemingly aimed for. However, I think they attained perfection with their choice of female actresses! I've liked Jordan Brewster since the first one and the two other females (leads-ish) were stunning.<br />

The Rock was a welcome addition, although >>>> SPOILER ALERT <<<< there is now way Vin Diesel could take him in a fight. In a movie that is mostly unbelievable but it doesn't matter, that was a bridge too far for me! Man the rock was looking huge, I wonder if he is bigger than usual or if it was the shaved head and goatee?<br />

Paul Walker has managed to fashion a decent acting career for someone who can't act and has no charisma whatsoever. -

Without giving away too much a husband and wife leave rural China to work in a clothing factory, leaving behind two children to be brought up by the grandparents. Sixteen years away, only coming back during Chinese New Years. Sending money home to ensure the children have a 'better life' than they do. Living in a factory dormitory, with only a cloth screen for privacy. The mass of humanity trying to catch 'the Last Train Home'. Again well worth watching. -

That one is a real cultural eye-opener and compelling. Like a lot of kids in the western world, they don't see the sacrifices made by the parents to provide them a better life. -
I've always been kinda fascinated by Rambo. The guy who wrote the original novel (David Morrell) went to my high school (years before I graduated) and I was a good friend of his nephew (who was pretty embarrassed by the subsequent movies). Inevitably, I went to the local premiere of First Blood, and then saw it again, twice, the following week. (I've probably mentioned before, I've always been curious what happened to Rambo II (aka First Blood III). A-hem.)<br />

Absolutely! Look at the some of the embarrassing clusterfucks Buster Keaton, Marlon Brando, Henry Fonda, Orson Welles and Fred Astaire attached their names to. (I guess you could say the same thing about Al Pacino and Robert De Niro.) Most people nowadays have no clue they made them. Their legacies reside with the great pics they made, and most people are willing to overlook and/or forgive the garbage. -

I've just read Michael Caine's autobiography and it's a bloody good read. He came from a pretty poor family so he basically made a decision that he was going to be financially stable in life and therefore he's made a few turkeys. But you're right it doesn't effect his legacy. He basically said that each time he looks at a development to a house or apartment he owns then he just thinks "insert shitty movie" paid for that. He also said that some of the turkeys didn't feel that way in the making.<br />

Book is great, he actually sounds like a top bloke, and his wife was freaking stunning back in the day. He also fought in Korea - something I had no idea about. -

He's been in a few ones. I am reminded also now of Sean Connery, who (supposedly) passed on LOTR, but accepted League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. He'll always be Bond to me, though Man Who Would Be King is also iconic. -

Watched an old Gregory Peck western last night called The Gunfighter . Would highly reccommend it to any western fan that hasn't already seen it .

I was watching Moby Dick the other month (a superb abridged version scripted by Ray Bradbury and directed by John Huston - and a movie I am surprised hasn't been remade) and Peck makes an excellent Ahab. But every time I see him, be it Guns of Naverone or To Kill A Mockingbird), and certainly through no fault of his own, I can't stop thinking about [URL="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Adventures_of_Greggery_Peccary"]this[/URL]. -
