So are any of you into the modern french horror movies? High Tension, Inside, Martyrs, stuff like that.<br />
<br />
Are they any good?

Gullivers Travels - thought this was actually a decent watch, enjoyed it really.<br />
Rango - cool, certainly worth a watch.<br />
Source Code - bit confused about this one, seemed quite good through the most but a bit weak at the end - setting it up for more to come?<br />
Lincoln Lawyer - similar to Source Code, cool movie and quite enjoyed it but weak ending, made it almost seem like a pilot for a series.

Fast Five; if you like James Bond kind of unbelievable action scenes, then this is your film, along with The Rock, the old cast returns, along with the usual cool cars, the inevitable car chase and driving action, along with plenty of other action, enjoyable watch, expect we'll see a Fast six sometime soon with The Rock in attendance.

Just bought a large amount of movies from a street stall in Thailand. The two I've watched so far...<br />
<br />
Scream 4 - Not as shit as I thought it'd be, hence not too bad if your expectations are low.<br />
<br />
Final destination five - I don't really know what I was expecting for a fifth movie in a series I haven't liked since the first movie. All in all it was complete shite.

ROTPOTA - 7/10 Serkis was fabulous. Good story if you check parts of your brain at the door. CG works best on close-ups... still not completely convinced when the CG characters are in "live space," but Weta is getting there.<br />
<br />
Senna - 8.5/10 Compelling documentary about the deceased F1 champ and his rivalry with Alain Prost (who plays the villain/heel role) - must-see viewing for McLaren fans, and close to essential for everybody else (and that includes your wives who will swear they won't be interested, but in the end, they will be, and they will thank you).<br />
<br />
Colombiana - 6/10 Utterly ridiculous, and yet I fear, a future guilty pleasure repeat view.<br />
<br />
Edit: trailer here:<br />

finally got out to see the final installment of Harry Potter, still digesting really, I guess knowing it was the finale makes it different??<br />
<br />
Thought it was good enough, a few patches which left me wondering why they bothered, but I guess the fact it was the shortest of the HP movies meant they needed to pad it out??

Movie was ok, I think they over complicated the plot a bit - Ocean's Eleven with cars was what they seemingly aimed for. However, I think they attained perfection with their choice of female actresses! I've liked Jordan Brewster since the first one and the two other females (leads-ish) were stunning.<br />
<br />
The Rock was a welcome addition, although >>>> SPOILER ALERT <<<< there is now way Vin Diesel could take him in a fight. In a movie that is mostly unbelievable but it doesn't matter, that was a bridge too far for me! Man the rock was looking huge, I wonder if he is bigger than usual or if it was the shaved head and goatee?<br />
<br />
Paul Walker has managed to fashion a decent acting career for someone who can't act and has no charisma whatsoever.

I watched two very different doco's in the weekend. Both excellent<br />
<br />
Fire in Babylon<br />
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1727790/<br />
<br />
Great to watch the old footage of some of my all time favourite players - Viv Richards, Andy Roberts and Michael Holding. Certainly felt the passion from the old fella's when talking about the rilvary between Australia and their first series win on English soil. Well worth watching<br />
<br />
Last train Home<br />
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1512201/<br />
<br />
A doco that follows the life of one family of chinese migrant workers in Guangdong. It really gets you thinking about your own situation. Without giving away too much a husband and wife leave rural China to work in a clothing factory, leaving behind two children to be brought up by the grandparents. Sixteen years away, only coming back during Chinese New Years. Sending money home to ensure the children have a 'better life' than they do. Living in a factory dormitory, with only a cloth screen for privacy. The mass of humanity trying to catch 'the Last Train Home'. Again well worth watching.

That one is a real cultural eye-opener and compelling. Like a lot of kids in the western world, they don't see the sacrifices made by the parents to provide them a better life.

I've always been kinda fascinated by Rambo. The guy who wrote the original novel (David Morrell) went to my high school (years before I graduated) and I was a good friend of his nephew (who was pretty embarrassed by the subsequent movies). Inevitably, I went to the local premiere of First Blood, and then saw it again, twice, the following week. (I've probably mentioned before, I've always been curious what happened to Rambo II (aka First Blood III). A-hem.)<br />
<br />
A friend sent me this link, a Rambo kill chart. Enjoy the carnage escalation!<br />

Thor - very average, visually pretty cool, but aside from that? With Thor and his hammer, do you need any other heroes?
