NRL 2017

@JK you fool! get off the Warriors! Expect nothing, and you won't be disappointed. This will still go tits up.
I reckon Melbourne will go close again, those old guys don't seem to be getting any worse, and what ever they can get out of that little shit Billy will make them better than last year.
And i think the Gold Coast will have a real go at it this year as well.
-
Warriors will lose their opening 4 games and Kearney will be sacked, with the Mad Butcher taking over as interim head coach until David Kidwell comes in for 2018 when a new beginning will be hailed yet again.
Such an optimist, I know....
Like M4L, I expect nothing. Anything more than that comes as a nice surprise, like finding $20 in your jeans pocket 6 months after you last wore them.

Haha I support roosters mate. Only said OUR as a local. Reckon could go ok this year but yep we say that most years.
I dont bet on or against the warriors either. One of my golden rules of betting. They will wreck you either way. Even when odds are short, must resist including them in a multi of any sorts

Expect us to do better than the last few years but that ain't saying much. Am hopeful that Foran (again, fingers crossed) might actually run our forwards effectively. Reckon SJ is at his best when he only has to worry about 1-2 plays per set, rather than making the play for every possession.
I'm hoping Kearny slaps the prima donna out of any warrior that can't be arsed getting fit or showing urgency for the full 80min. The NRL is a tight comp but if we are clearly putting in effort, even in a losing match, that makes it easier to get behind the lads. Can't stand it when we just roll over, and we've seen far too much of that in the last few years.
Excited for RTS as well - he's a great dude and I suspect he'll shine under the pressure rather than let the job bring down his personal performance.
-
@Paekakboyz look, that's all well and good. Yes, theoretically (and historically for the kiwis) Foran and SJ have been a good combo, each playing a different role.
But we've lacked players will to dig in when it gets tough. We leak points at an alarming rate. Our error counts are always way up. And i look at our roster, and i am not convinced the players are there who can, or are willing to, fix those things. The best defenses and the lowest error counts do well in the NRL. This season will be no different.
-
That's my deluded angle bro! I'm hoping this squad actually has that mongrel and resilience in them, and Kearny can tap into it. For at least enough of the team to drag the others along or make it real easy to tag who to cut asap. I want him to be ruthless aye - no place in the NRL if you aren't going to give a hundy.
I'm also hopeful that a Doyle and Kearny combo will be good for the club. Mooks has mana and while I can't stand listening him to talk (leagues John Mitchell!! journey time boys!) he seems to know his shit.

Ok, only a week to go and we still haven't had any NRL players try and shag a dog, piss in front of small children or take a dump in a hotel. A lot of pressure will be going on the Sydney based players to come through with the goods....

If we can't beat Newcastle, then we should chuck the whole season in early doors

Sharks v Broncos to open the season. Disappointing both of them can't lose.
And as I'm typing Chad Townsend does more in one movement than he ever did for the Warriors
