No Warner and no Smith? Great stuff, find a way to get rid of Starc and Hazlewood and we're in with a shout

Australian cricket has been fucking great for petty bitchiness over the past 6 months or so.
The latest is Cameron White v the selectors v the Players Association.
Cameron White came out and said he thinks it's wrong that the Aus team is treated like a development side (Geeves calls it "the search for the one" the quest to find the next great generational player), where guys are thrown in to the team with little behind them, based on not much more than potential. Heazlet is the one he's talking about, who has very little cricket behind him, but a good age-group record. Meanwhile White averaged 76 in the domestic ODI comp, and can't get a look in. It's a valid argument.
Hohns, the chairman of selectors, retorted that he was surprised by White's comments, given he was once a young player given a go, and he didn't do much when given the chance. Mee-ooww. (this is also a valid point however).
The players association has obviously weighed in, and called the comments disrespectful, and had a go at CA for over the top retorts to any perceived criticism (this too is a valid point).
Just goes to show international cricket can be just as bitchy as club cricket.
Oh, and England lost 8 for 8 in 19 deliveries to lose a T20 in India by 75 runs. Black Caps-esque

White being overlooked for this tour is madness. He's right, they are treating the national side as a development team.
Thing with cricket is a lot of players mature a bit later on in their careers and hit their peak between 26 - 35. Throwing a 22 year old in and then casting him aside when he invariably fails doesn't tell you much. The "next great player" will be easy to spot at the lower levels, there's no need to try and blood them in the international arena before they are ready.
I can remember fairly recent criticism of Aus picking old players and not giving the youngsters a go. I guess you need to find a balance.
Also, England have had their collective asses handed to them in India. Puts our results into perspective a bit.

I was shocked that people were shocked we did poorly in India.

Yeah, I wasn't shocked but I had some optimism that if things went our way then we might sneak a win. Losing every bloody toss put paid to that though.

This is so meaningless in terms of Warner.
It's most likely that Warner is getting his Century in the 20-30 over mark when everything slows as he gets to the 90 mark so quickly.
-
Bang on @Hooroo Warner is the only opener in that lot. If he holes out in the 90s between the 20 - 30 over mark everybody would be saying he needed to consolidate at that stage of the game.
If you ignore the opinion piece, they are interesting stats. Smith and ABDV miles ahead of everyone else when it comes to accelerating their innings at the end.
-
holy shit! I'm all for anything having a go at the illiterate, beligerent dwarf, but that is some of the biggest bullshit i have ever read. Fuck me.
David Warner only scores at a run a ball in the 90s. What a fluffybunny. And this one time, he took more than that. Hanging's too good for 'im!
Fact of the matter is he has 13 hundreds in 91 innings. He averages 45. His average strike rate is 97. I think he's doing okay (and I'm pretty sure Ross Taylor would kill of his record)

Holy shit Aus cricket has a hard on for the Marsh brothers. Khawaja appears to be dropped for the first test in favour of Shaun Marsh

Doesn't Khawaja buck the cliche of Asians being good players of spin?
While S Marsh has scored well in Asia.
Probably some logic.
-
Marsh was bamboozled by Santner at Eden Park. I'd say the Indian spinners will be licking their lips.

Khawaja is terrible against spin. It's tough because he is obviously one of Australia's best batsmen. I would back Marsh to score more against him in India though. Most teams don't really do a horses for courses in the batting whereas they do with the bowlers.

Yeah sure he slows down in the 90s.
But he's probably the fucking quickest to 89.

Yeah sure he slows down in the 90s.That has to be a sick hit piece.
I'm no fan of Davey as a person, but his qualities as a batter cannot be underestimated. He is amazing. Annoying, and amazing.

He's the batsman most Kiwis think McCullum was...
