Awesome, just awesome. Everything an 80s action movie needs. I'm surprised Tim hasn't been on here with his favourite clip...
<br />

Continuing with our awesome 80s action movie re-viewing theme, last night i watched "Red Heat". brilliant. Arnie is Russian! Jim Belushi is the smart-ass about to be fired cop sidekick, who uses heaps of dick and jerk-off jokes. Lawrence Fishburne is so young he is still called Larry Fishburne.

Mariner you are a top, top man!<br />
<br />
Red Heat is pretty underrated - it's really well shot, there's some nice set pieces, Arnie rules, Jim Belushi is more than tolerable, and it moves along nicely.<br />
<br />
Now why is it such a high production value 80's action flick? Because it's a Walter fucking Hill movie. Guy is a great director with a very good eye. Just check his credits on IMDB.<br />
<br />
If you want an epic, epic 80's action flick then check out Extreme Prejudice. Seriously good action/modern western movie he did with Nick Nolte, Powers Booth, and Michael FUCKING Ironside. <br />
<br />
Damn good movie.

Pretty good alright, big ups for "Brewsters Millions" and "48 Hours" and writing the story for "Aliens". I think i like "Last Man Standing" as well, but i can never tell, even after watching it. <br />
<br />
Points off for the "Aliens3" screenplay.<br />
<br />
Red Heat is so sweet. Chicken with Buses! <br />

One of my favourite films, watched it again last week. Heard they want to make a sequel set in modern day LA which sounds poo to be honest.<br />
<br />
Didn't pay much attention to the director but should def. watch some more of his movies.

On a crappier note I watched Adventureland last night. After hearing good things I was let down massively.<br />
<br />
Just another John Hughes wannabe with no real humour and little in the way of character development. 2/10

Went out to the film festival last night, and enjoyed seeing 13 Assassins (http://nzff.co.nz/auckland/film/b0052bd1-a629-451e-9712-281b8c6e4fc2)<br />

Lots of fun, a slow start building up the story background and all the characters, but then the 2nd half of the movie was one huge glorious fight sequence. Recommended

watched Source Code last night, I enjoyed it; a dude wakes on a train not knowing who he is or where he is, last he remembers he was on a sortie in Afghanistan...

Myra Breckinridge - Always wanted to watch what is regarded as one of the worst movies ever made and it lived up to the crappiness.<br />
Raquel Welch, who Eva Mendes has obviously based her looks on, plays an arse-raping transexual who wants to own an acting school or something. <br />
<br />
1/10 (The 1 is because you see some boobies)

The Adjustment Bureau - I was left a bit unsure. Started off good and seemed good for the most, but just seemed to lack a little something. I did take a bit of a shine to Emily Blunt though.

yeah started off well, and then kinda slipped into a bit of a romantic kinda film and left me not wanting to like it <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':P' />

Just saw the last Harry Potter film . Thought it was excellent and stayed very close to the book . Special effects and CGI were very good as well . Probably the best of the Harry Potter movies . 8/10

have you read the book? the final showdown - the climax of the whole 'why Potter will win ethos', was poorly done. Casual viewers would have plenty of questions unanswered. It was visual feast to be sure, but could have been handled so much better by a real director and better scriptwriter both of whom came into HP with pretty shallow C.V's. - especially considering it's a billion dollar franchise and NZers know how seriously Warner Brothers value their productions.

I saw it last night in 3D (Which was pointless) They never captured any of the deaths very well. I was slightly disappointed. Wish they made more of a deal out of Neville and his parents and Grandmother. Same with the Mum Weasley and Bellaletrix Estrange. For me, the best acting in the whole series was Helena Bonham Carter and Alan Rickman!
