Might they be filling time due to heat?

Perhaps but there wasn't any announcement of such.
That does make sense as it seems pretty damn warm, but not as hot as Sydney 😉

@RoninWC No, there is a short break and then it's Rebels v Panasonic Wild Knights (6.33pm NZT = 3.33pm Brisbane time). The Canes v Force game is at 7.01pm NZT = 4.01pm Brisbane time

@Stargazer Thanks, I think you highlighted my error... Brisbane time.
I had forgotten that those redneck Queenslanders are so backwards they don't observe daylight savings time and they are 1 hour behind their superiors.

    Cheers

Two teams are now playing their second game of the day, while others still have to play their first. I guess that's because some teams play 3 games today, while most play only two?

Wes Goosen close to scoring the Canes' first try, but his feet were in touch. No try.

The Force is the first team to score and they lead 5-0.
The Force has most of possession but it took them a long time to convert that into points. The Canes had a few good chances, but being close is not far enough. NMS showing some great moves btw.

    Half time: Force 5 - 0 Canes

Close game. Prinsep almost scored for the Canes but was considered held-up.

At least the force looked like they knew what to do with the ball. That was a well worked try. Canes just trying for individual stuff.

Matt Proctor scored a converted try and now they're going to the TMO to see whether the Canes scored another one.

The try has been awarded. Try scorer Apikotoa (again someone I don't know). It's now 12 all.

Jordie Barrett has been a beast in all his tackles.

The Canes win 17 to 12.

There's no way Jordie was concieved naturally. Blatently a clone of Beauden.
