@Stargazer The sarcasm probably stems from the examples where women don't tend to turn up to watch women play sport.

....and men tend not to turn up unless it's beach volleyball.

    AB7s 5, England 5 at half time.

I still don't understand those high tackle laws. Koroi got penalised for a high tackle, but all he did was pull a guy down by pulling his shoulder with one hand (not with his arm). Didn't get anywhere near the neck/head area. How's that a high tackle?

    Above the shoulder.

How is this clown of a ref permitted to attend these events? Just lets anything go at rucks after calling players out!

And NZ loses again: 5 -12 to England, but there wasn't much between these teams.

Technically, a hand on the shoulder is above the shoulder, but how that is a high tackle is beyond me. There's nothing dangerous about a hand on the shoulder and I thought it was about not getting into the neck/head area and that certainly wasn't the case. If that's the correct interpretation of the law, it's a stupid law.

Just like the women, the NZ men win bronze by beating the Aussies!
    Final score 29 to 14.

This weekend are the Las Vegas Sevens, both for the women's and the men's teams.

Black Ferns 7s squad: (asterisk indicates new cap)
    Sarah Goss (captain)
    Michaela Blyde
    Kelly Brazier
    Theresa Fitzpatrick
    Tyla Nathan-Wong
    Cheyelle Robins-Reti*
    Alena Saili
    Terina Te Tamaki
    Ruby Tui
    Kat Whata-Simpkins
    Niall Williams
    Portia Woodman

    Travelling reserves:
    Rebekah Cordero-Tufuga
    Renee Wickliffe

    Women's pool games in NZT:
    Sat 4 March
    6.45am: NZ v Brazil
    9.30am: NZ v England
    12.15pm: NZ v Australia

    Where to watch?
Uncertain whether the women's pool games will be televised. Usually, Sky can't be bothered, but they made an exception for the Sydney 7s. If it is televised, it will most likely be on Sky Sport 6 (ch56). That's Sky Pop-up 2.
The finals will be televised on Sunday from 7.30am on Sky Sport 6

Phew, at least they didn't have to make a tough decision to drop Collier.

The games are not on tv (fuck you Sky), but apparently the Black Ferns Sevens have won their first two games:

    24-0 v Brazil
    27-5 v England

Their biggest test will be the game against the Aussies, but they should already be through to the Cup QF.

Update (I didn't see any of the games because I went to see the Canes U20s and then the Super Rugby):

    Black Ferns 7s:
    21-14 v Australia

Great results from the 7s women. They will play Russia again in the Cup QF at 6:50am tomorrow (NZT).

    All Blacks 7s:
    24-7 v Kenya
    19-5 v Russia

The third pool game, v Argentina is at 11.36am tomorrow.
