2016-2017 World Sevens Series

@Stargazer The sarcasm probably stems from the examples where women don't tend to turn up to watch women play sport.

Half time: NZ lead 12 - 0 over PNG.
Some sloppy passes from the BFs at the beginning of the first half and PNG defending surprisingly well. Don't think PNG has had the ball enough to attack in the first 7 minutes, but they look better than their men's team last week. Like the PNG men last week, their women's team making their debut at the World Series.
BFs had a strong finish in the second half, with PNG having a player in the bin for a dangerous tackle.

An entirely different 2nd half, in which PNG hardly got the ball. When they did at the end, their captain scored a great try in referee's time. Otherwise, NZ completely dominated and PNG's defence was powerless. And geez, Michaela Blyde is so good! Last year, I would have said without a doubt that Woodman was our best BF player, but now I think Blyde is the best. Super fast, strong and awesome skills. She's proof that you don't need to be big to be great in sevens. Good debut from teenager Saili, who scored her first try in the World Series.
Full time: NZ 34 - 5 PNG
NZ tries: Michaela Blyde 3x, Renee Wickliffe, Portia Woodman, Alena Saili

NZ beat Canada 31 to 10. Really good game. Tui and Woodman outstanding, but the whole team played well.
In the Cup QF tomorrow, the Black Ferns 7s will play France at 12.00pm.
I don't think this game will be televised because this game isn't played in the stadium. I read on an Aussie news website that the organisation had made a mistake when preparing the schedule and, as a result, the women's Cup Quarter Finals are played on an outside field. The semis and finals will be played at the stadium.

Strong game from the women. The BF7s completely overpowered France in the second half: 24-5. Through to the semis against the winner of the game Ireland v USA. The SF is at 4:04pm.
Edit: opponent in the SF will the USA.
The AB 7s play their first game at 1.42pm.
