@Stargazer funny how the top team they picked last year for the Olympics were mostly a super rugby and all black mix. And the missing guys from last year are mostly playing sure rugby this year eg Reiko and Akira etc. Pace, power and athletism are universal across all codes and versions.

Please, remind me, which medal did they win in Rio? Gold? Silver? Bronze?

In better news for NZ they smashed England to make the plate final - rookie playmaker Koroi carving up - he is one positive from this tournament for NZ.
That's only there to make the special needs teams feel good for turning up

Honestly, we have been pretty good in this tournament. Just the Fiji game was disappointing. If we finish Argentina off here, it's a decent performance (although we would still want to do better than 5th).

Disappointing finish v the RGs.
Hard to work out how you top your group and play Fiji!
Looking better since Dubai. Just moments going against us.
Need to be ready to transition to defence when a mistake is made.
Some promise of improvement.

What's with Scooters Billy Idol sneer - did they push one of his plugs too far down and he had a stroke?
Bell's Palsy apparently.

Naah, it is easy. Second in group B (Fiji) played top of group C (NZ).

Any one want to predict that NZ will not be top of their group. It would be another NZ vs Fiji game at QF stage.

Would be disappointed if NZ did not yop that group. Although the Jocks looked quite good.

The jocks have improved (won final at Twickenham), 5th at Cape Town and 3rd today. Will be a good game NZ vs Jocks. Group C is death group with Australia playing at home.

Well that was shittier than shit.
Understand that the squad is building...yadda yadda but where is the effortless ease and guile we used to play with previously? Seems to have abandoned us over the last few seasons.
We appear to have the weight of the world on our shoulders and at times look like headless chickens with hot potatoes.
What was our attack plan? If it was to set our alignment was way too deep, with the receiver having to stop and wait for the horrible moon ball pass, and have big forwards trundling it up only to lose possession or have a penalty awarded against them then it worked a treat.
That said, Koroi looks like a keeper, and good to see DJ reinventing himself looking like a young buck. -
Not a single Kiwi player in the top dozen for points, tackles or carries.
Most disappointing for me is the defence. Just missed so many tackles, no physicality when they do make a tackle. We used to concede so few tries in a tournament, now we let in a few a game.
