Irish pack is just excellent. Their TH furlong is a beast and surprise surprise VDF got man of the match.

    Watching this now.

Fark me. I don't even want to think about how good Ireland would be with BB at 10. That pack is astonishing.

Why does Mumm keep getting selected? Is it a special needs quota thing?

Exactly who is the Aus captain? Bonocock speaks to the ref more than Moore.

Yeah they are a bunch of hard bastards that do the basics really well. If they can develop some more depth in the backs they'll be a real force. Love Tahd Furlong, redefines the term built like a brick shithouse.

Yeah he's awesome. That one with the Dutch name is a hell of a player as well.

What a great game, congratulations to Ireland and all the Paddies on here.

At 17-0 down I thought it would be a space job, but then we got back into the game and looked like we could run away with it ourselves.

In the end the Irish side just finished better, and the composure and execution that won us matches against the Scots and Frogs deserted us when we needed it. Can't be too disappointed in the Wallaby effort, and the game really could have gone either way.

Cheers Barbarian. I thought Australia had it in the bag in the second half, particularly after the Ireland backline replacements. But the comeback was good to see with the final try.

How good is that Australian backline when it gets purring? Jeez.

Josh van der Flier and Tadgh Furlong the Ireland players of the November internationals for me. The Six Nations should be good.

I thought Australia would win for sure when they took the lead but credit to the Irish players for regrouping and seeing it out.

Part of the reason Ireland finished stronger was likely down to all the defending the Australians were doing in the first half. That might have been the difference.

From an Irish point of view it would have been a sickener to lose after being in total control for 38 min. We should have put more points on the board but thats the usual. The basic skills are good and they hardly make any handling errors but they don't always look like they know what to do after a few phases.

Australia played some great rugby at times and cut through the Ireland defence. It was good to watch for the neutral! They were a bit hit and miss though. Played great rugby and then do a silly mistake. Not like the Australian sides of the past who were the smartest team going. I thought Haylett-Petty had a great game for them. He was popping up everywhere and always made some yards.

Australia have only beaten Ireland once in 4 games now so they'll want to put that record right the next time the team meet. That win was in Schmidt's first game as Ireland coach if I remember correctly.

One other thing. How many residency players do Australia have playing for them?

Three. Naivalu, Speight (Fiji) and Kepu (NZ).

@barbarian Quade? I realise that he moved there as a teenager but I don't think he's taken up Aussie citizenship yet so would probably still be classified as a residency player.

Oh I thought he meant our 23 that played on the weekend.

Quade's mother is an Aussie, so he's not a residency player. Korobeite definitely is, and we also are in the process of qualifying Taniela Tupou, aka the Tongan Thor.

They are the only other two that spring to mind.

@barbarian while I don't care about the ins and outs, wasn't there a thing last year before the RWC about Quade not being a citizen?

Hasn't Koribete just signed or allegedly in the process of signing with Toulon?

wrong Fijian winger. Radradradardardara from Parramatta is apparently signing for them (he's been trying to get out of the Eels for 12 months). Didn't show up to court the other day too.

Not Koribete, the other Fijian winger who plays for the Eels is the guy you are thinking of. His name is Semi Radradra.

Yeah, he might have been referring to the 23. I never knew Quade's mum is an Aussie.
