All Blacks v Ireland II

Cane's citing is a joke.
If Fekitoa misses the next game, and Ben Smith is out with a mangled hand, and I assume Crotty is still out injured, then have we run out of centres?
ALB-Rieko. I'd actually quite like to see that, both hugely exciting players.

Was that for the head clash? Terrible call if so

Crotty was always in line for this game and from what I heard he was running freely last week too, so expect highly likely he'll be back this week

I certainly don't want to see that. Reiko showed in the ITM Cup that he really struggles defensively in the midfield.
He could be last man standing and might be given the jersey but I will be holding my breath big time.
In attack he's excellent but right now I'd love to see him on the wing.
Give the 12 jersey to Jordie Barrett and have ALB at 13 😎

It wasn't actually a head clash. Reverse angle shows it clearly
-
@hydro11 one angle clearly shows their heads impacting, so how anyone can say there was no head clash is beyond me.
Similarly one angle of BB's try shows clear grounding, the other that was shown repeatedly on the big screen makes it look doubtful.
-
@taniwharugby He was damn unlucky. Cane wasn't even looking at the player, he was turning his head to avoid the impact!! Can't we have an inadvertent clash of bodies without blaming one person? The Paddy player spun around straight into Cane when he didn't expect it. You could argue that he headbutted Sam's shoulder

ABs by 12 and under at $3.70 sounds a good option to me....
Did you take this?
-
@ACT-Crusader Tamanivalu is in the squad too, and he and ALB have played together before. Losing BFA means you lose a back-up midfielder too in the 23. Naholo is NOT a centre as he struggles defensively on the wing.
Agree about Rieko - he's unproven in the midfield but could make the bench vs France with the injuries.

Two angles can't show different things. That angle was clear - there was no head clash. As for the Barrett try you couldn't see anything on the other angle because the opposition player was in the way.
-
@taniwharugby said in Ireland II:
@hydro11 ah you being deliberately obtuse?
One of the angles I saw clearly showed a head clash, so I obviously saw something you didn't.
Nah. The angle that shows head clash is an optical illusion.

Pat T is heading home for personal reasons. Don't think he would have played anyway, but hope for him it's not another bereavement.
Edit: old news, I see ...
His form has been very disappointing. I hope "personal reasons" doesn't mean he's be on the booze, or broke team protocol etc.

They would have said that if he did, no need to start rumours.
Not had much luck with the locks availability on this tour.

I'm not starting rumours. You can infer what you want from my comment
A rumour would be me posting "I heard from someone in the know that paddy was on the piss".

No, what you posted floats it as a rumour too. Anyway, as I said the AB management aren't shy of hanging a player out to dry if they break rules on tour. So at best your post was pointless speculation.

@Rapido same optical illusion that showed Sexton's arm impact BB's head I expect...bloody Irish cameras!
I hope the judiciary have better video to view than we do. The trouble seems to be that the whole thing is so quick that 24fps (or whatever it is) doesn't catch the same frames from each angle. I am stuff if I can manage to stop the reverse angle one at the same impact moment as the angle from behind Cane.
Watch Henshaws head. from behind Cane you can clearly see him leading toward Cane with his head first. In the other angle you can only catch his head leaning back looking like he has taken impact from the shoulder. It's like there is missing film.
Henshaws head goes straight into Cane's neck/jaw first, then the shoulder connects.
As mentioned by others Cane isn't even expecting to make a tackle, He is coming in fast to support the expected tackle that Henshaw spins out of and straight at him head first.
The whole thing is a freak accident and one of those things that can happen when bodies are bouncing around at speed.
