@Stargazer I'm under the impression the barbarians players get a very nice pay day indeed.

Wallabies trio escape ARU censure over cash stash

The Australian Rugby Union will take no action after three Wallabies were issued with infringement notices by the Australian Federal Police after failing to declare money to Customs officers. Matt Giteau, Adam Ashley-Cooper and Drew Mitchell were investigated by the AFP after not declaring more...

Lambie at 10 won't be pretty for the Boks. England by 10+ I reckon.

I have updated the tv schedule in the first post of this thread. It looks like all games can be watched live in NZ. I only haven't been able to find a (legal) livestream for the Romania v USA game.

@MiketheSnow Howley didn't just drop Roberts though did he Mike? More like he threw him under the bus. Public criticism of a senior player is a new(ish) one ins't it?

Howley hasn't worked out that Biggar is not compatible with a more expansive game plan.

G Davies, Biggar, Roberts works for one style of play

G Davies, S Davies and S Williams offers far more variety and more opportunity to play what's in front of you.

@MiketheSnow For sure Mike I can see the rationale for dropping Roberts, I just thought it was a bit of a shit thing to publicly criticise him when he dropped him.

On The Sam Davis thing, I'm not sure I could take too much away from his cameo but he sure as hell wasn't fazed by international rugby.

@booboo Yeah as @Sapetyvi said, he's out, as is Kruis, so we are down to the lock pairing that a year ago we thought would be the England boiler room for the next 6 years. Launchbury and Lawes with Atwood on the bench. We're lucky to have that depth, we saw what losing two locks like Whitelock and Retallick can mean. We've also lost a host of back rowers, although a good few of them were Eddie's surprise picks. Front liners were Haskell and Clifford. Both previous first choice wingers are gone too.

Looking at how England and Australia are playing tonight, England looks good to break the winning streak record

@Crash Quota policies. Our under 19 superstar backline coach hasnt augmented Coetzee's defensive playstyle as he had hoped.

    @Stargazer

I appreciate you putting up this comprehensive schedule for the Northern Hemisphere matches which is, I found, beyond the capability of some of the unions and rugby sites themselves!

Just going by the highlights France look like they might be on the turnaround - a new coach and they look like they are playing with some flair again. They'll be a real challenge for Wallabies and ABs the next two weeks I think. Sounds like they have some injuries though.

@Mick-Gold-Coast-QLD Thanks. I just hate to miss games, because the tv guides are so unclear (awful design) or incomplete. I mean, Sky NZ's tv guide doesn't even show it's own rugby pop-up channels! So I usually make my own list. If I have a list, I may as well post it on the Fern so others can find the games' broadcast times and channels, too.

By the way, if anyone is interested in watching the Georgia v Japan game, here's the full video:

Yep. Pretty much a done deal - oh wait. Argies. Fuck. Aus. Fuck. Wales, Scotlad, Ireland, France. Multiple fucks.

However, I am a happy Englishman today, with us finally beating SA and beating them well. A lovely well worked first try despite Brown nearly butchering it with a crap final pass. The move went down well and had a percentage feel about it. Youngs had a great game and made a mockery of poor old Du Toit in his out of position flanker role. Two glaring forward passes missed (one in the lead up to the first SA try). One thing I couldn't quite get my head round though was the ineffectual SA line out which was packed with very tall guys. Why didn't they compete? Very odd. Arbritary ruling on the scrums where I think SA were on the wrong side of the decisions more than us. Our discipline was poor to start with but improved. SA were a shadow of what we have come to expect though. Sad to see.

Still. A convincing win with a few beers on the side - happy days.

Unbackable favourites in all of those games. Done deal - start organising the parade now.
