@Stargazer said in Nz maori:
DMac at 15 shows to me that the AB coaches don't see him as a potential AB 10 (other than in case of emergency); otherwise they would have given him a run in the 10 jersey for the Maori team and not a start at 15.
I don't think they would see him as a serious option at 10, at present. His time at 10 at even Super level would measure minutes - if he's played there at all? He played a couple of Mitre10 Cup games there, but I don't think he set the world on fire. Surely they wouldn't really look at him as a potential 10 until he'd at least played some significant time there at Super level.
I'd say he's very much a work in progress for the ABs, but definitely a 15 at present, who may have potential to develop into a 10. Taking a sort of Beauden Barrett path.
My personal view is that he'll need to take this 10 path, because he's not going to be tall enough to consistently play fullback (compete in the air) against the big boys. A couple of years down the track he might be competing with the 6ft 5" Jordi Barrett (same height as Folau?).

The NZ team seem to like kicking a lot.

@Pot-Hale
Have done their home work - narrow field and in-goal area, and exposing obvious deficiencies in the USA
