Well, the Kiwi journalists were lapping it up, based on what they were asking during the AB presser.
So the talk on this side of the ditch will be about the no-try. And the positives, maybe.
Over your way I'm sure the NZH or stuff already have something up about DUSRISPICT!!! Followed by half a dozen pages of ejaculations regarding world records etc and whether it will stop at 25 (to take out those pesky Cypriots once and for all), or get to triple figures.
Cool. An accent joke. That's new and refreshing.

@broughie who gets dropped for Akira?
I think he is quite a way off being test ready.
I just scanned through the game as I recall a head butt from Hooper, anything come from it?
It was pretty tame but still, I have seen that get carded before. Crotty also got a hefty kick to the face at one point that may not have been deliberate but was 'deliberately reckless'. A swinging leg toward the head of a player near the ball.
Did you see my post regards Mumm elbows Retallick about 52.40. There was a few niggly off the ball things, equally I took delete in Coles smacking Mumms head into the turf after tackling that mutant giraffe.

Read choosing to kick the ball out at the end is one of the strangest decisions I have seen from this AB team.
Game won. Record achieved. Tour coming up. Why bother?
Also I thought Nige had his arm up for our scrum? What happened after that? The family got home at that point.
He stuck the wrong arm up. Said so. Apologised for confusion.

I'm always at a loss that no one in the Wallabies camp has manned up and told Mumm that when you have such a dopey looking visage, acting the tough guy just makes you look like the local 'tard with behavioural issues.

They never get old , we have a lot of sheep here in NZ . I would have thought there would have a lot of scope there for bestiality jokes . Anyone?

@reprobate whether Julian woulda got him or not is irrelevant, hecwas in a position to attempt and was denied by a dumb pointless move by dhp.
Oh and I'd be furious too if we were on the end of that...but IMO still correct in the rule book
If you want to look at the Laws, Savea grabbed DHP's shirt first as he turned to chase. First offence, play advantage, try awarded
Nice try. Two offences. First offence (if indeed it did occur). Penalty Wobs.

@broughie thing is, the selectors seem to have a pretty good grasp on the right time to introduce new players, so if they think he is ready, then he'll be on tour, but I just dont know who they will drop to make room for him, or believe he is ready.

Oooh... One of the questions for Cheika was "do you have any comment about what they've achieved with 18 wins in a row?"
Response:
"Oh mate I don't really think they want my comment. They dressed us up as clowns today so they wouldn't really want our comment. I don't think they'd respect our comment anyway, so we won't make one"
Another reporter: "what do you mean they dressed you up as clowns?"
Cheika: "It was on the front page of the paper, bro. So I won't bother making a comment" -- bit more comment here, before losing his line a little before another reporter (kiwi) asks: "Reading between the lines, do you take that as a mark of disrespect?"
Cheika starts to respond, Moore cuts in
"Yeah mate, I do. Abosolutely"Then some other reporters want to hunt that line down with Moore. He didn't want much of it, but seemed pretty offended that the Wallaby jersey - and all those who pulled it on - were basically slighted by that.
Two words.
Richety.

I was sitting right on that sideline and Savea had 20 metres or so to catch him, he was almost up to him when he got bumped. Both disallowed tries could have gone either way but I was OK with both decisions but it could have easily gone the other way
Was going to be a very close race. The replay only has a couple of steps before DHP got involved, so its hard to judge who was gaining or losing ground. I'd back Speight's pace from there, or an offload to DHP.
But he wasn't given the chance
-
I think we should be a little bit fair here and hold off on Nick until he finally gives up pestering the missus for a Sunday morning wake up prod and sulks off to the computer.
I am assuming that the gloom in convict land hasn't taken away his power source? -
@booboo said in All Blacks v Wallabies at Eden Park.:

Maybe he could have taken the chance instead of waving his arms at the ref? A bit hypocritical given he'd just had a go at obstructing DHP in the first place.

@NTA said in All Blacks v Wallabies at Eden Park.:
@rotated 6 of the 8 minutes? Really? I wasn't writing down a blow by blow.
He spent some of the time saying how fantastically the ABs were performing, and how the Wallabies had to own their own mistakes, as them talked about the no-try incident. Seems that he'd have trouble squeezing all that info two minutes, while letting Moore speak as well
Difficult to believe he means that stuff when he spends so much time on the contradictory stuff.

That is shit from the Herald. Really shit. Moore had every right to be pissed off.

Jeez the gloating on here is worse than @Canes4life after a hurricanes win.
In my opinion it was a shit call, if it happened against my team I'd be pretty angry.
Our forwards got taught a lesson for the first 50, those 2 young Aussie locks have a lot of potential.
Pity we don't play England this year, they'd really test us there. Ireland in Dublin could be tough.

I'd be angry too, angry at the dipshit player who stupidly took out a defender.
Gloating? What are you on about? Take the piss out of an Aussie coach carrying on like a goose, and Aussie commentators carrying on like gooses is hardly gloating.
Happy to have the 18 in a row, hell yeah.

It reads like gloating to me.
I've seen McCaw run that exact type of line so many times in support and never get called. I think it was wrong.
But yeah, suck shit chieka, @NTA and anyone else Australian (I'm not gloating)

Managed to score tickets to the top of the Southern stand right on halfway, awesome having a view like that as you can see just how well organised the ABs are off the ball. They are a very slick outfit indeed.
The opening try from the ABs was incredible, the speed at which they used the ball was a thing of beauty and pretty much impossible to defend. When you have numbers 1 - 5 able to catch and pass at pace like that then the movement never slows down. The Wallabies had some good moments with the ball but nothing they did came close to matching that - when the ABs put it together there's no team in the world that can go with them.
The 2nd try was an extremely poor read by the Wallabies 11. Going for an intercept on your own line is fraught with danger.
After that inititial burst the Wallabies managed to compose themselves and played some really good footy for the next 40 minutes, controlling possesion and territory well and not allowing the ABs to play the way they wanted. The no-try was an important moment in the match, and while the correct call was made I do have a bit of a problem with it being done via the producer playing it over and over on the big screen until it gets called back. WR seem unwilling to address it. If that's in Aussie then they could easily just delay the replay until Foley has kicked it. Doesn't seem right to me.
Once it was disallowed you could see Hooper (to his credit) trying his best to lift and fire up the team, and they did continue to play pretty well until the ABs scored the breakout try via B Smith and Savea.
Savea's 2nd try was pretty special. There's fuck all people who can score tries like that - gets the ball, two defenders have him well covered, then bang bang and he's in. He also wasn't "annonymous" in the first 60 - he was defending for most of it as we had 30% possession, pretty hard to make a mark as a winger when you don't have the ball. I'm getting a little tired of the Savea detractors, he has been the standout winger in TRC/Bledisloe but that's still not enough apparently. He can do things other players can't which is why he's such a weapon.
Great way to cap off an incredible home season. We gave Wales, SA, Aus and Arg a hiding in every single match we played. That shit is unpresidented and unlikely to happen again, so make sure you savour every moment.
@NTA you'd think our media would be gushing but most of it is too busy trying to tar the ABs name by publishing clickbait articles about a supposed "bad culture" in NZ Rugby that must be "fixed" because, ahh, Aaron Smith had sex or something. NZ media is fucking pathetic.

So what if McCaw has done it in the past. The law has been posted in this thread. Watch that video below and tell me how what DHP did didn't contravene 10.1(c).
Quite simply if DHP hadn't of changed his line to push Savea then none of this happens - but he did.

Check the ~52:36 mark of actual game time, 18:40 on the YouTube clip and watch Retallick cop an elbow to the head from Dean Mumm...
We thought he was knocked out at the bar, and wondered if he'd copped a whack then...
Hmmm...
We Kiwis gave to get better at the trial by social media video thing.
Quck tweet Brett Gospar...
